Guest guest
Hi and there and thank you for letting me be a part of this great group, I read some information about Karma Yoga, but the part that interested me the most was the information that there were certain karmas and yogas that could be performed to acheive certain aims. I was wondering if someone could elaborate on this for me or point me in the direction of the texts that describe this. The information I read talked about karmas for health, prosperity and other things. I am interesting in the karmas that would need to be performed to heal certain afflications. Most importantly and firstly I would be interested in what amount of karmas one would have to perform to clear up ones mind and perhaps limit problematic thinking. As I understand it this sort of stuff varies slightly from performing certain yoga sets and although I am interested in that too this information sparked me off on a train of thought. Perhaps someone could point me in the direction of the texts that describe these things. Yours gratefully, an inquisitive and always learning and eager student, Steven McLachlan _________ Messenger - NEW crystal clear PC to PC calling worldwide with voicemail http://uk.messenger. Guest guest
Hi Steven: Great question! There's not much I have been able to find on Karma yoga. All I know I learned from my various teachers on this topic. Agia Akal in Toronto always tells me to involve my students in karma yoga around my studio. One day he asked me to do some karma yoga. I was having stomach problems. I thought it was a response to a fear that came up during my course with him. He told me it had to do with not completing my karma yoga. And perhaps both are true. There's energy involved when you start doing something consciously. Karma yoga needs to be done with consciousness, noticing the details of what comes through you as you do it and finding the discipline inside to do a complete job, and noticing how it affects you. It is a meditation in humility and it alchemical because as you work on something external of you with awareness, you transform internally working through the blocks that come up or the emotions that come up as you do the karma yoga. How long depends on you. Same as yoga and meditation. It depends on your starting point and how much you want to achieve... and how hard it is to let go of your desire to achieve anything and then you may really get what karma yoga is in that moment for you! @:-) That's what I know!
