Sat Nam Abinashi Kaur,

"I was struck by Sat Sangeet Kaur's response

regarding addictive

behaviors and coming to know your true self. When she

mentioned the

meaning of her spiritual name, "princess of true

divine music" - I

was filled with jealousy. I was told that my

spiritual name,

Abinashi Kaur, means "the indestructible Princess."

>From the moment

I heard it, it filled me with dread."

Sat Sangeet replied:

Four years ago, I would have traded you names in a

heart beat. I could much more relate to your name

then the one that I had been given. ("Warrior" is

something that comes very easy to me, Princess of True

Divine Music...not so much!! Ha ha!) I think for the

most part, that is the nature of the spiritual name.

It stirs you to the core and brings up all of the

negativity that you are harbouring around your full

potential. Atleast that is what purpose it served for

me. It also brought my awareness to what my full

potential is...prior to that, I wasn't really headed

in a direction that would have easily brought it to

light.

I have a very close friend whose was pretty upset

about her spiritual name as well. It's Jai Kar Tar

Kaur...Princess of God's Victorious Deeds. Then

finally one day as we were talking about it for the

hundreth time (we've spoken many times with each other

about our name struggles), a new awareness hit her and

it shifted completely how she felt about it.

All along she was under the impression, just like how

every woman's name has "Kaur" in it, she thought every

name has the word "Victorious" in it as well. So all

along she had been giving the word "victorious" no

heed and often would express that she was overwhelmed

by having to "manifest God's deeds" and my god, where

do you start and am I capable etc etc.??

Then one day i said to her, "you know....I am not

quite sure what is so hard about that...like your name

does start with the word "victorious"?? Like you kinda

already have it in the bag, that you will be

successful and you just gotta believe it and go for

it?"

She was like, "everybody's name has victorious in it,

that doesn't mean anything!!" I'm like, "no they

don't!"

With that realization, her whole perception of it

shifted. And she felt completely different about it

all.

Anyways, all this to say, how you feel about your name

is just perception and that has the potential to be

changed in a heart beat. I heard alot of spiritual

names over the last 6 years and I have yet to come

across one that is a "stinker"!! ha ha! The're all

good! And everyone has a unique contribution to share

with the world.

Abinashi, if you'd like to read more about my struggle

and journey with my spiritual name and how that has

unfolded in my life so far...you are welcome to visit

my website www3.telus.net/tracysvision I speak

openly about the obstacles that I have overcome and

continue to overcome around my name.

All Light and Blessings,

Sat Sangeet Kaur

Abinashi:

First of all do you know your name is very musical? Say it to yourself

aloud 108 times just to hear it's sound wave. Feel it inside and how it

affects you. Stay with it no matter what judgments come through to you.

The beauty in a name is that the true meaning is only in its vibration. I

could say anything about it and it would not reach the power of its sound

vibration for you!

This being said: Indestructible princess does not mean that you have to go

through perpetual struggles, it means that you are indestructible and your

are royalty no matter what. When you really feel it inside of you, you

won't need the struggles to convince you!

Laughter, beauty, music are closer to your true nature than you may

know... But what I am hearing from you (although you don't literally say

it) is that you may choose (unconsciously) to be concerned with struggles

instead. What I am saying is you are free to choose what you focus on in

your life. Do you want to focus on struggles or on laughter, beauty, and

music? So in the same way that anyone addresses addiction, every time you

find yourself choosing to focus on (or are concerned by) the importance of

struggles in your life remember what you really want your focus to be.

rest in your chosen focus. Give yourself permission!

Blessings, Awtar S.

> Sat Nam Everyone,

I wondered if any of you have any other ideas on

Sat Nam Abinashi!

The first thing I was told to do when receiving my spiritual name was to

meditate on it. Your spiritual name is like a personal mantra, which uplifts you

everytime it is spoken, and represents your highest purpose. It goes "beyond"

liking or not liking. Meditate on it, use it in japa and you will understand

and LOVE its potential and power!

Blessings in Divine Abinashi Kaur!

Love,Guru Ravi

Sat Nam!

I'm a little behind on my reading of all the wonderful posts,

but let me add my two cents back a bit.

When I received my name Siri Chand it was back in 1971. At that

time I had just discovered KY! Let retrace my steps a bit...until

that time as a middle school student I had tried to take yoga but

was told I was too young...so I was over ready for the yoga when it

appeared.

So I finally met a KY teacher in Prescott AZ while I was going

to school there at the Jr. college. It was awsome! The more I did

the higher I got...which leads me to ...the Ashram!

After a quarter of the semester had gone I found that there was

a winter solstice gathering coming up. Why not I said...can it get

any better? So off we went to Tucson's Maha Deva Ashram to pick up a

couple of yojis before we head out to Florida.

The Ashram was my home! Upon stepping through its doors I knew

everyone....I had somehow been there before...it was very

weriod...in a good way! Little did I know what changes were coming

soon!

At the morning meal the next day, Sat Nam Singh looked at me

and told me I would journy to solstice and I would return and live

here! Just like that! All I could say was Sat Nam...then He gave me

my name, and told me it would carry me through this age!

Since that time I've run an Ashram, had it burn down, relocated

to another state, relocated again...ran a Golden Temple Restaurant,

divorced a couple of times, left 3ho(was labled as one who freaked

out) ...but through it all I've taught my few classes ...ran a

spring workshop for the past 20 years and now after Yogiji visited

me last year I'm ready again to do it all again!

The funny thing about it all is my name has been my catalist!

We used ( at Maha Deva) to chant to Baba Siri Chand to put us

through more karmic things so we could work through it all

faster...what havic that would cause around the Ashram!

Anyway...this all came out of a vibration...when Guru Nanak

gave us the Word little did we know what that would mean 500 years

later...Whahe Guru!
