Yeah Brian,

I use at least a teaspoon of the paste when I make it. I've been

doing it that way for many years and it has always been good.

Good for liver, joints, cleansing and sleep.

Mellow but not yellow

Dear Christine:

Try the following proportions for 1 cup.

Blessings, Awtar

Recipe: 1/8 teaspoon turmeric, 3 cardamom pods (optional), 1/4 cup water.

Simmer 8 minutes to make a paste, then add : 1 cup of milk (or rice milk or

almond milk), 1 tablespoon almond oil (cold pressed). Bring just to the

boiling point (but do not boil). Add honey or maple syrup to taste.

Jai Gurudev,

hi anand shukla, there are several articles in the group about Golden Milk. Go to the message column of the group and give the search query as "Golden Milk". You will find lots of articles right from the preparation to the significances of Golden Milk.

Re: Kundalini Yoga golden Milk

I always start out with 1 and 1/2 cups water for that amount of

turmeric...

and then it is a simmering boil to a paste...

if it gets too dry again you can always add more water...

this keeps in the frig for a month, in a glass container.

Dear Anand,

This link will give you a recipe:

http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/goldenmilk.html

Several people have posted recently on this forum about the benefits

of golden milk; if you type "golden milk" in the search box, you'll

find what people have said. I've copied my post on this topic; here

it is:

The following comes from the 'Basic yoga nutritional therapy recipes'

chapter in the book 'Food as medicine' by Dharma Singh Khalsa, MD:

"Golden milk is beneficial for the joints, helps relieve pain, and

helps to break up calcium deposits that cause stiffness."

Before that, he writes about tumeric, the "active ingredient" in

golden milk:

"Tumeric is a known anti-inflammatory and is often prescribed in the

treatment of many illnesses. It is best known as a lubricant for the

joints. It is also excellent for the skin and for the mucous

membranes, especially for the female reproductiveorgans. It should

always be cooked for at least 5 minutes in water or oil before using."

I hope this helps.

Sat nam,

Betsy
