Guest guest
Sat Nam Marie, listening is good. Daily listening is better. Reciting daily in the ambrosial hours is best. Reason behind is, that in you upper palate you have some 48 reflexology points which are connected with your brain and glands. Reciting the Japji (actually all Mantras or every spoken word) let your tongue touch or 'clap' the upper palate. This stimulates the brain and the 'higher' glands. This releases hormones into the blood and changes 'connections' in the brain. This leads to the magnificent effect of Japji or chanting mantras. It balances and elevates your feelings and let you enter new states of consciousness. As my teacher said: Imagine, that you are a hungry peasant. Japji is like a beautiful buffet with the best dishes imaginable. Listening to the Japji is like watching the buffet. Reciting the Japji is like sitting down and eating it.....
