Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Just wanted to share that I noticed that if my state of mind is negative and I practice Kundalini, the negativity mutliplies leaving me with a sense of uncontrollable instability. I have never felt this before because I am usually inba positive state of mind, but I recently went through a challenging situation that left me a bit negative for a few hours. I thought Kundalini would help it, and was surprised went it heightened this state of mind. Has anyone else experienced this? Now that I know this, I will be very careful to clear my mind before my Kundalini practice. I also never heard any teachers talk to their students about this so I was wondering if my sitaution is rare. Thanks! Sat Nam Mary
Guest guest
Hi Mary, My experiences are completely different. In fact the reason I love KY so much is that at the end of a hard day I can do some Yoga and it completely refreshes and restores my state of being. During my practice and meditation a lot of garbage may come up but I just watch without attaching and let it go. In my Sadhana I do the following to elevate my energy after a hard day: -tune in-(focus on my true being) -breath of fire or long deep breathing for a couple of minutes -kriya- (Kriya for Elevation always works for me) - meditation - Long Sat Nam's and Sunshine Song I always feel refreshed, positive and connected to my true self. Guest guest
Dear Mary, Sat Nam! Everyone is different and everyone is different every time they practice KY. > Just wanted to share that I noticed that if my state of mind is negative > and I practice Kundalini, the negativity mutliplies leaving me with a > sense of uncontrollable instability. I have never felt this before > because I am usually in a positive state of mind, but I recently > went through a challenging situation that left me a bit negative for a > few hours. I thought Kundalini would help it, and was surprised went it > heightened this state of mind. * So this is about one experience, not a pattern that always repeats. * Obviously you needed to get more in touch with the negativity so that you could releave it and not suppress it. Feel the negativity and express the energy until it clears. Clearning our emotional imprints takes time, but it is necessary to free our emotional body. Has anyone else experienced this? * When I first started doing Sadhana decades ago, I got very angry for a few weeks. So I just let that be ok. Evolving the emotional body is a process. We are not always going to feel yummy and rosey. * The main point is to get out of denial about our negativity so the energy can move and we can liberate ourselves from negative programming. Then when we feel negative we are responding with information, not reacting with a pre-set response. > > Now that I know this, I will be very careful to clear my mind before my > Kundalini practice. We all let that be just the way it is. And then it is different the next time. Life is very interesting. The less we try to control it, the more interesting it becomes. Guest guest
Dear Mary: I wrote how to handle negativity early December. Check out the archives under "Sodarshan Chakra Kriya". I want to add something to that: Negativity is not yours. It does not belong to anyone. It just passes through your space like a cloud through the area of the sky you can see. You would not say: "this black cloud is mine, I have to get rid of it and make the sky blue again!" It is the same with negativity. It is not yours; it is not your responsibility. What most of us do is to hold on to negativity, we make it ours. and that's why it hangs around so long. And Kundalini Yoga won't get rid of it if you hang on to it! Can you see that? Kundalini yoga is so powerful it'll make you more aware of what you do. So become aware that you are attached somehow to this negativity and release the attachment, just choose not to attach to it anymore. it is not yours to begin with. Then you can be joyful while experiencing negativity move through your space, just experiencing it, saying to yourself something like: "Oh! I feel this." and letting it be OK! Do you know what's yours? Joy, bliss, wealth. Enjoy the journey! Awtar S. Rochester, NY
