Guest guest
sat nam, everyone, "let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier." --mother theresa i read this quote at the new year and have been thinking about it ever since. i'd like to know if any of you all have practiced a kundalini yoga set or kriya that has created this kind of energetic within you. it feels to me like a state of compassion, non-judgmental acceptance and other-centeredness, while being uplifting and inspiring. and it seems like it would have to be communicated energetically as we don't always have extended interactions or conversations with everyone who comes to us. i would really like to begin a practice that will transform me into being this kind of person for others. i have guru rattana's ky manuals, so if anyone can suggest something from one of them, that would be great. another source is okay too -- whatever you've personally experienced that works. thank you in advance! i love reading everyone's posts every day! nirvair kaur
Guest guest
Sat Nam Nirvair Kaur, Some of the time I feel aligned with the energy you describe. 40 days of Nabhi Kriya really really helped me, because it anchored me in my own space. From there, you're safe to open your heart and extend love to everyone. If you try to open your heart without a solid navel chakra, your subconscious fears and vulnerability may sabotage the effort, in my experience! It backfires and the ego gets involved (when chakra 3 is weak, the ego feels its needs aren't being met). A meditation that I also find effective in surrounding you with healing force that can easily extend to others is this: Inhale in 8 discreet, abrupt parts through the curled tongue Exhale in 8 discreet, abrupt parts through the nose Silently place the mantra RA MA DA SA SA SAY SO HUNG on the breath, so each syllable goes with a discreet part of the breath. So you're doing 1 complete repetition of the mantra per inhale, and one per exhale. Eye focus is unspecified, mudra is prayer pose or gyan mudra. I find that 15 minutes of this meditation really revolutionizes my energy. The meditation is supposed to open all the healing meridians of the body. A funny story - I was doing this meditation on the beach in santa cruz once, and there was a chinese man doing tai chi nearby. Later he walked by me and said, "Wow, you are very healthy. You do not need acupuncture!" I'd love to do a scientific study with this meditation, because I hypothesize that it increases neurotransmitters in the brain. Good luck love Ardas

Guest guest
Sat Nam Nirvair, This state you are describing is called Cherdi Kala ( Rising Spirit or Continuous Resurrection ) in Sikh Dharma. To answer your question as whether there is a particular set. Goshes, the truth is everyone is within minutes to weeks of this experience, as long as they choose the "right" Kriya or practice, and "honestly" practice it...this can't be overstated. Everyone has an experience, or set of experiences, that they need to go through before they are released in this way. It's just a matter of one's readiness or openness (check your navel/nabhi) coupled with the proper wisdom. A Master can divine what "action" (Kriya) needs to be done for you to get to that next level. Also, using Numerology to figure out what set will tend work for is very powerful. Then, of course, once you're high, there's the much greater challenge of staying there. All that said, in my experience, for me, the most dramatic single set was doing the Prana-Apana set in Gururattan's "Transitions to a Heart Centered World" page 42. There is a point in that set where the question of surrender comes up. Try it a couple of times and you'll know precisely what point I mean. It is then that the energy flips in a big way. Let yourself be overwhelmed but trust in the unknown, keep a sense of your core and just let go. And it is good, as Ardas Singh has noted, to have a reasonably balanced navel point so as to have the capacity to penetrate one's own emotion/commotion stuff to get through to that big sense of trust and Neutrality of the heart. Guest guest
Hi Nirvair Kaur That is a beautiful quote from Mother Theresa. In my experience regular practice of kundalini yoga sets "clears our subconscious and conscious minds of accumulated garbage" and progressively frees us to express a corresponding increased awareness of universal unity and love. Expressed as warm heartedness, compassion and loving understanding, this is creating happiness in ourselves, and felt and experienced by others through our actions, words, attitude and demeanour. Seeing as that quote of Mother Theresa's refers to a 'heart centred experience' there is a 'Heart Opener' set on p35 of "Introduction to Kundalini Yoga" by Gururattan and 'Venus Meditation' for the heart chakra on p125 of "Sexuality and Spirituality". I do feel though that all the KY sets in the manuals help free us of blockages and help align us with the Infinite God, so that we are increasingly able to express 'THAT I AM' in this world.
