Guest guest
Hello. Rising people. I think this is the place where I can get some questions answerd.not long ago I used to think that im one of those people...whom existence made just to suffer, pain, failures, and hardship to be left alone for ever no matter how honest, hardworking, talented, and creative ur or no matter how good ur intentions may be. The end result would always be a person who finds himself hurt to see his worst fear coming alive. and a person. When ever who puts his heart and soul to a thing, like work, music, relationship.etc or to desire anything meaning ful.would be taken away from him... cuz that gives him peace, happiness and a feeling of contentment...without feeling any ego based pride...like this 27 years have passed and I find my self as a young man...with an unsecured being.and.just the opposite of what he thought he would be...and who can not recall when was the last time he was happy... until i found.that existence is not against me and if it was i would not be here...in the first place .it’s the bad experience of childhood and parents making my own energies go against me....i started doing some light meditation like watching ur thoughts. And feelings...and I find that. I feel im in more mess... I feel The same thing magnified. In 5 folds Unable to express myself. for example...can’t even cry utterly low in self-confidence.... and gradually I feel. that my creative juices are drying up slowly... and getting victimized by demons inside.. again and again...in other words... always being in a wrong place in the wrong time...or in a right place in the wrong time...so basically nothing has changed...it’s just that it’s exposed.....and magnified so what I would like to know….is kundalini yoga good for me…. if yes what are the things that. I should keep in mind… Jiyo cricket on India cricket
Guest guest
Dear Bokojoo, Sat Nam. (Truth is your identity) You have come to the right place! Many of us have felt as you -- very eloquently -- described. You are identifying with the part of you that feels failure. Kundalini Yoga will help you identify with the part ofyou that is true, is everlasting, that is love and peace and joy. All of those things are still with you -- that is why you wrote to KY groups with your inquiry. :-) If I were you, I would find a KY teacher, or failing that, go to YogaTech.com and buy a book -- I bought "Transitions to a Heart Centered World" by Gururattan -- and start doing a little yoga before you go to bed at night and when you get up in the morning. A little is ok -- you will get hooked soon enough, when you start to feel better. Then you will want to do more. Also, counseling with a sympathetic counselor who understands yoga can be very helpful. Keep us involved in your process -- write to me or the group and let us know how things are going. Finally, be kind to yourself. do things that you like to do -- don't overdo them, but enjoy them. Love and Light to you, Avneesh Singh, Milford NH
Guest guest
Sat Nam, bokojoo! If it is any consolation, I, too, hope and pray to have help from this site/this yogic practice, too. I have lived through an abusive childhood, adulthood -- and am hoping to go beyond. I welcome all suggestions and prayers. Blessings to all, Padmani Kaur Phoenix, AZ
Guest guest
Yes Ive had feelings of hopelessness too. KY turned that around quickly. I first did Sat Kriya, then nabhi kriya and was hooked. Energetically at first it pulls you out of your hopelessness and gives you a better perspective after the meditation cleans your subconscious mind. I have imbalanced hips and was for all of my life depressed blocked. KY made me feel like id awakened from a long sleep. A rebirth to a much richer life than id thought possible. Mahan gyan kriya has lifted me out of this being stuck feeling and given me a new life. Im doing a meditation sodarshan 5mins and starting real slow because it can release alot of garbage at once and you can get more depressed by trying to clean too quickly. This is an effective tool. Guest guest
I think the hoplessness has emerged because the teachers are really more concerned about the money, then they really truly are concerned about you. it's all about money now, not about love, regardless of what they say --- chris charles <ccharles79 wrote: > Yes Ive had feelings of hopelessness too. Guest guest
Dear Mithun: You just said that you don't want to heal from outside. why do you want books for? Instead learn what your insides are made off. Do your yoga from the Yogatech website. Learn to meditate. Learn to live in your body, not your mind. Learn that there are no such things as failures and successes, only keeping up or giving up! And keep asking questions! But feel what's right for you! Blessings, Awtar S. Guest guest
Dearest mithun, congratulations on your desire to heal. And to bury the hatchet! Though hatchets can be useful tools when used to chop wood not people As always, we need to seek the kind of help we're open to at this point in our evolution and listen to our heart to know what we truly need (though sometimes what we reject the most vehemently can be the most useful to us). if i may offer another perspective on talk therapy, not to convince you to seek therapy but just as an alternative understanding. All talk therapy requires putting talk into action in our lives and is but one means to come to a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world as it is. Counselling/therapy AND meditation can be a very powerful yoga (or bridge), especially if you work with a therapist/councellor who is open to these practices which any Jungian based therapist will be. A good therapist or councellor will help you expand not shrink your perspective and capacity for compassion for both yourself and others ,and give you tools other than hatchets to use in the world. Therapy involves healing from the inside, it is not something that is done to us but a process we participate in with the therapist. We do the work, the therapist offers us guidance. i offer this perspective not to convince you to choose to undertake a therapeutic relationship but merely to offer another way of looking at a useful tool and practice so that you do not limit your options. Kundalini yoga is generally very active and intense so any reputable teacher will ask you to be sure that it won't compound or aggravate the injury that is causing pain and to check with your doctor. You may want to see a pain specialist about your neck, x-rays don't always show all the aspects of an injury and the tools for diagnosis have become much more sophisticated than they used to be. At the very least you should start slowly and be careful with your body, and if you work with a teacher let the teacher know about your condition. Sitting or walking meditation can be very useful for pain management (though let me emphasize that it is useful for management not a cure). i hope whatever tools or practices you choose to undertake that they offer you relief from your pain and a kundalini practice that is suitable for you. i'm sure the kundalini yoga teachers on this list can offer their perspectives. blessings on your journey ovasoul Kundaliniyoga, "bokojoo" <bokojoo> wrote: > > > hello rising people > > thanks for such a positive response...i know now for sure..that finally > ill b able to burry the hachet..and free my mind... > > now the shrink thing is not happening...since i would like to heal from > within not from outside.. > > i just need to know....where to start..which what are the basics..what > books i can find... > > is vipasana meditation of any help... > > now there is one very strange fact that i know about myself and just > like any other thing no one else but me can experiance and feel it.. > some years back i got hurt as a child while playing..and it is my spine > im talking about.which healed on its own..few years later...i would > feel..terrible pain in my back bone just below my neck...parents thought > its spondalitis (or how ever u spell it) x rays and doctors couldnt find > anything...but s till today..i feel...rigidness and a subtle pain in one > perticular part of my backbone...and it hurts (consider some one has > driven a nail through ur backbone) > > now my question is it some kind of energy block? > > rise and shine with love > > mithun >
Guest guest
Hi mithun With ragard to where to start, here is one suggestion: Pay particular attention to getting your breathing right. To that end, as well as the yoga manuals of Gururattan, there is a book called "Breathwalk" by Yogi Bhajan and Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, which you could find helpful. The following quote from Ramana Maharshi explains the importance of breath control. "The principle underlying the systems of yoga is that the source of thought on the one hand and of the breath and vital forces on the other is one and the same. In other words, the vital forces of the breath, the physical body and even the mind are all no more than the forms of prana or energy. Therefore, if any one of them are effectively controlled, then the other is automatically brought partially under control. Yoga aims at influencing the Manolaya (substance of the mind) by means of pranalaya (substance of the breath and vital forces)which is brought about by the practice of pranayama (breath control)." Guest guest
Mithuna Vipassana meditation is VERY helpful!!! The Kundalini Yoga is an amazing catalyst, but to really deal with your issues, you need to have a dedicated meditation practice. While KY meditations are amazing, I have found that since starting a practice of vipassana meditation along with my KY, I have really been peeling back the layers of ego and old emotional wounds. I recommend a 10-day retreat, they have them all over the world and they're donation-only. www.dhamma.org. good luck and love Ardas Singh
Guest guest
Sat Nam David, WOW! what a sad perspective...& I suppose that if you feel that way then that is certainly what you're going to get. as with anything...some teachers may feel that way...but it has been my experience that the teachers I know are more concerned about the students...& sharing the teachings... especially in Kundalini Yoga...I say this because our classes do not fill up like a Hatha class would, in fact Yogi Bhajan addressed this many times by saying that "for every 10 students that come thru your door, 1 will stay"...& has encouraged us by making a point to say that in the beginning there were times when he stayed & taught a class even when no one showed up, (as to hold the healing space)...we are humbled right from the very beginning, smiles & yes i can tell you that I am certainly not in it for the money, for me its a calling & there are times when 12-16 students come to a class & times when only 2-3 students show up in another & I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to share these teachings with them...& I know that there are alot of others that feel the same... we are asked not to have our yoga teachings be a means of making a living...then we don't have the pressure & can simply enjoy being in the space & sharing...its more about planting the seeds, watching them grow, caring for the garden & enjoying... in loving kindness Jiwan Shakti Kaur --- David <kishor1 wrote: > I think the hoplessness has emerged because the > teachers are really more concerned about the money, > then they really truly are concerned about you. > it's > all about money now, not about love, regardless of > what they say >
Guest guest
Sat Nam, In my opinion KY is good for everyone , we just have to see how much is good for our body to begin and take it one step at a time. Sending courage and patience your way. All's well that ends well. Chanting "Ong Namo Guru deva namo" is very helpful when you loose hope. You can let go of all these by trying to focus on your breathe. It takes time but you can get there and one day your mind will not want to part from breathe as it is very healing and calming both for body and mind.. just observing the breathe.. Whenever bad thoughts come "just observe and tell yourself that this is the last time it is coming" or nulllify it by taking Guru's name. lastly, surround yourself by love, light and peace. Watch it Work. There is no looking back. Love, light and peace. Akkama bokojoo <bokojoo wrote: Hello. Rising people.
