The Kundalini Yoga is an amazing > catalyst, but to really deal with your issues, you need to have a > dedicated meditation practice. This is true. We can't just pump the exercises and chant the mantras and get up and run. That is why we are advised to sit silently between the exercises and after the chanting or breathing meditations and simply be present to our energy, our being and our experiences. It is at these times that we connect with our inner being, hear our own voice and also identify the programs that run our lives. So although silent retreats are very beneficial, we also need to incorporate silence and stillness in our daily practice. We can get into very deep spaces between the exercises. The other night a new student came to my class. She said she had taken KY classes for 3 years and had never experienced a class like mine. The classes she had taken didn't take any time between exerices to simply be present to the self and let the transformation take place. In my classes we take at least one minute between each exercise to be present and to cultivate awareness. This class my instructions were very simple -- Focus on yourself Feel the flow of your energy. Go deeper into your own flow. After the 4th exercise when I instructed them to go deeper, she said she could see the light inside her body. After the next exercise she could see it again. It is not difficult to experience the reality of Self. Just pay attention to your aliveness. Without judgment, without control, without trying to make something happen. You are already happening.
