Guest guest
hi MR, just thought i'd let you know that i often feel crappy after doing yoga, and i don't have a guru (other than the golden chain, and my first teacher ranjit kaur, and gururattana and dharam singh and awtar s. and ovasoul and and and - all people far from me geographically but very close here on this list), and i haven't fried my brain yet or gone insane. but, be sure to tune in with the adi mantra before you begin your practice (see kundalini yogaprep.html), and i understand that the aad guray nameh mantra also will protect you (sorry, can't find a handy link for that in the way i mean it). otherwise, i'll leave it to the wiser and more experienced to answer your concerns. sat nam! seattle sue
Guest guest
You are in the right place. You are normal. Your experience is normal. Kundalini Yoga can bring unconscious issues and emotions to the surface. By your self-description, you have had a hard life and so, there is alot of pain and feelings that will make their way into your consciousness. The freshness and good feelings will follow, in time. everyone's karma is different. So, don't put a timetable on when you should feel a certain way. Take the feelings that come and give them to God in your meditations. Kundalini Yoga is a personal journey. In kundalini Yoga we do not bow down to any human guru. we become our own guru. As far as "Kundalini frying your brain". I wouldn't worry about it. If you follow the sets as they are laid out by Yogi Bhajan, you should have no problem. I have never met anyone that practiced KY who suffered from kundalini problems. If you have doubts, take it slowly. Keep a journal of your feelings, seek counseling and commit to working through your issues. I have been practing KY for over 10 years and I also had a very tough life and many deep seated emotional issues. And, yes, becoming conscious of these feelings was very painful, but KY has been very helpful in healing them. But, it does take time. Be patient and kind to yourself.
