Guest guest
Sat Nam! I am seeing a young man in therapy who suffers from epilepsy -- had a grand mal seizure 3 weeks ago. He is under the care of a neurologist and an MD and is not really interested in yoga, but he did do the left nostril breathing I suggested to him to improve his sleep and it worked. He is under a tremendous amount of pressure, financial and other, and he seems to be coping by playing on the computer quite a bit, a choice that seems pretty reasonable, given his circumstances. My question is this -- I'd like to give him some more small suggestions like the left nostril breathing that could lower his stress level and improve his heart energy. Can anybody make any suggestions to help him improve his heart energy and overall stress level -- he has told me he's not interested in attending any classes..... The other piece of advice is for me. I have been doing the "aquarian sadhana" I heard about -- Sat Kriya (11 mins) followed by Kirtan Kriya (31 mins) followed by Sodarshan Chakra Kriya (11 mins). I had some pretty positive results in doing this for a while and decided to do it for 1000 days at 11 mins per kriya. However, for the past couple of months I have felt that I need to make some refinements and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on the practice -- for instance, the other day I noticed when chanting "nam" that I was feeling the energy stretch across my eyes and during the "sat" feeling it rising. Should I encourage this kind of impulse? Any tips from veterans? The sodarshan seems especially to be in need of tweaking -- I get so distracted when doing it!
