SatNam everyone,

I discovered KY in my last session as a work volunteer at this years Yoga

Journal

conference in San Francisco with Gurmukh from Golden Bridge in Los Angeles, CA.

I

started my daily practice getting up before the sunrise and taking a cold shower

and being

thankful for the new day, doing a mix of asanas from my hatha practice, etc and

experienced incredible results.

I am also a mom of 2 boys, aged 2 and 4 and have recently moved back from Italy

where

they were born to my native California. I live in Albany and work at UC Berkeley

and would

so like to set up a family oriented KY community here in the East Bay. Gurmukh

has a

wonderful center in LA that I would one day like to emulate here. For now I am

finding this

KY site and the classes are helping me to develop an extremely powerful daily

practice, but

I am missing COMMUNITY and know there must be other KY practitioners living in

this

mecca of yoga. WHERE ARE YOU? Let's meet and see how we can best parent our kids

in

the spirit of Kundalini.

I have a couple of specific questions: I know the cold shower is not recommended

for the

first three days of the moon cycle, but what about when you have a cold, etc. I

recently

had a cold and didn't know if it would help or hurt my sore throat, lost voice

etc. Also is

there anything like this in Italian or are there any Italians out there who

would be

interested in translating this site. I have lots of friends who would love

access to this kind

of course but they speak Italian and would be limited by trying to follow in

English.

I am deeply grateful for this site and having discovered KY at this very

transformative

juncture in my life. I look forward to exchanging experience and love here and

hope to

find others interested in starting to develop a KY community with activities for

kids and

parents in the Bay Area, SOON.

SAT NAM,

Karyn
