Guest guest
Om amriteshwariyai Namah! Thank you, Peter, for starting this list. I was so wishing for one for so long. Thank you, Amma, for hearing my prayer! It's like I've been sending messages to this list in my imagination. Did anybody hear any of them? One idea based on my experience on 2 other lists. We might want to have some different parts to our list, eg. a part that's about our stories of us and Amma (always fascinating). So when a new person joins, they can read everybody's story and get a sense of us and not feel so out of it. Also, maybe a bulletin board, for rides, etc. And then the main list for ongoing exchanges. Just an idea. Hi Aaron and Colette. Great to hear about Austin. Haven't checked out your artistry yet, Colette, but will. My husband and I just got back for our trip to LA and Santa Fe and Chicago, where we were with Amma. It was so great! And we received names from Amma, so we're feeling different and getting used to that. I'm feeling kind of shy about my name, like I have to grow into it. Not sure when and how I want to use it. Our sons and their friends will be with Amma in NYC and the Rhode Island retreat, so we expect to hear more through them. Brief history (will write more if Peter decides to go with a separate history section. Would prefer not to have to repeat myself for new members.): met Amma in 1987 when she first came to Madison, WI. Helped organize her visit here for the first 3 years. Then saw her in Chicago after that, also Santa Fe and ALBQ retreat last year and Ann Arbor last fall. And finally, after so many years, we spent this past January at her Ashram. We are the Satsang leaders in Madison. I am learning to play harmonium. I love to sing bajans. I used to be a lawyer and now I teach voice. Enough for now. I'm so glad we have this way of sharing our devotion.
