Guest guest
Regarding Eknath's comment about hoping to learn the Names, I will tell you briefly my experience with them. I met Mother 2 years ago, and a few months later was drawn to start chanting the 1000 Names. I was told that it would be good to learn them by heart, which I thought would be an impossible task. I started to try to actually +ACI-memorize+ACI- them, in groups of five names, but that was awfully tedious, so I gave up on trying to learn them by heart. I continued to chant them daily (and if I was sick, I would do them silently to myself, listen to the tape or be around someone else while they chanted them). To my surprise, about 6 or 8 months later I was listening to the tape and found I knew in most cases which name was coming next. I still don't have them perfectly memorized, but as I go through them daily I now have about 10 or 12 places where I must refer to the book. With Mother's grace I will have them all learned at some point. I can't stress enought the value in chanting the Names every day, if you're drawn to do that. If you want to really learn them quickly, chanting twice a day for some periods is excellent. I recently was reading an old Matruvani (June 1996) that expounds on the benefits of chanting the Sri Lalita Sahasranam. I will put that into a message soon. Guest guest
Hi Peter, Well, I would love to mention the site to other people up here, but most of my friends look at me strangely when I talk about mystical matters. In a nice way, I suppose (if that is possible), but if I do make connections with people of a similar disposition to myself then I will certainly inform them of the site. Oh, and on the grammatical point, when I have the occasional out-of-body experience I suppose you could say that I am OVER Glasgow! Hopefully, if my pursuit of a more enlightened way of thinking and feeling takes a fruitful path then I may be able to say that I am always both IN and OVER Glasgow! Is this getting too deep, or just too down-right strange? Who knows! On a final point, I keep wondering about the state of devotion itself. Having been brought up Roman Catholic, I have the underlying fear of 'worshipping false Gods', and I was wondering if it is right to worship God THROUGH Amma, or is the worshipping of Amma a way of worshipping God? Or is the word 'worship' itself at fault here? And is devotion a milder form of worship? I suppose I'm asking these questions because, like many others, when you've taken so many wrong turns in life you want to make sure that you are taking the right ones. Lots of love to you and everyone reading this communication. Namaste, Listen to what feels right to you. Your spirit will let you know when you are on the right path. There will be no mistake about it.
