A lot depends on the software that you use to build your web site. They

should all have some means by which you can make a picture be the background.

If you have to get down to the HTML code (a last resort particularly if it is

new to you), here is a sample:

 

 

 

The filename Colette1.jpg is the file name of a picture on your hard drive

that you want to use as background. The web site software needs to upload

this picture as it uploads the web pages. They should do this automatically.

 

When I tried a sample page, the above command tiled the picture. I haven't

got all the details of the BODY command with me at the moment to see what the

other options there are.

 

Whatever picture you use, I suggest you make it very, very faint and very

light. I find it annoying when strong backgrounds are used especially if it

makes the foreground text difficult to read.
