Guest guest
I thought you may like hearing this story: This happened just a few weeks ago. I had been to see Amma during Devi Darshan in New York City on July 12. I had brought back the holy water (thirtham) that Amma had blessed for my husband and child. I had been especially thankful to Amma as we had just been through a fairly traumatic health scare with David's (my husband's) health during which I had prayed intensely to Amma. There were some days when we thought of the darkest possibilities constantly, but by Amma's Grace, after several nerve-wracking tests and procedures, it turned out to require no more treatment than occasional check-ups. Anyway, the day after Devi Bhava my friend confided to me that she was going through a similar health situation that had begun some weeks ago. She was facing surgical removal of an organ suspected of being cancerous, the same kind that her mother had died of ten years ago. Since my friend is in her mid-forties, she was not an unlikely candidate for the same disease, and was going through a terrible waiting period before the surgery. Having no other thing to comfort her with beyond words, I gave her some of Amma's "thirtham". Though having no knowledge of Amma, my friend accepted it openly and thankfully. About ten days after this, and two days before her scheduled surgery, they did another sonogram to take a good look at the growth before the operation. They were amazed to find that the growth had shrunk to less than tenth its former size and was no longer a threat! My friend had had no medication or any other procedures between the two sonograms (except the thirtham). Again, her present condition requires no more than occasional check-ups. My friend is out of her mind with relief (you may imagine what I think). P.S. As I suspect is usually the case with the "miracle" stories, the real miracles are the quieter and more personal ones. Not ONE moment of the terror I had experienced with David's health has been a wasted or unnecessary one! Two weeks of mental agony pushed me closer to getting on the path of working actively toward self-governance and meditation than the next three comfortable years would have done. It revealed how little prepared I was, and how I better get my mind moving. It's immediate fruit was to get me to complete learning the Lalitha Sahasranama, a task I had dawdled through for about 15 years. No kidding!! My mother called this episode with David's health a wake-up call from above. She got woken up too, and rediscovered the Lalitha Sahasranama in a hurry! There are other little bits and pieces to this story that would be tedious for others to listen to, but suffice it to say that there were really two miracles here! Om Ammai Satguru! Guest guest
Hello Everybody, I haven't been able to associate myself much to Amma . Infact i got to know about Amma only from my husband for whom she is a source of everything in his life. I have been reading all the mails i receive through this group and suddenly one day i begin to feel i am being introduced to Amma in a very special way , in a very through way. I am sure i will be associated with mother in the same way as all of you are now. Hope Amma will show me, guide me to find my path to reach her. I can't recall the source (Rumi?): Q = What is the way to find G-d? A = Forget the way and you find G-d. Jesus says it too in the Bible (forgive this quote from memory): "Knock and the door shall be open unto you, seek and ye shall find, ask and it shall be given" What I'm wanting to relate is... I think you're already on the path.
