Hello everyone,

I've just signed up with this group. I thought you all might like the

following posting which I previously sent to the Ammanet group. My apologies

if this a duplicate for some of you. As you may know "Big" Swamiji

Amritaswarupananda has struggled with depression this year which was

apparantly triggered by physical problems with his neck or back. At the Rhode

Island retreat he began to talk about his experiences. I wasn't there but

then he gave the Satsang in San Ramon during the first program after tour.

In Amma's Love, Amalia Darling

Dear Divine siblings,

The following are my notes from the satsang given by Swami Amritaswarupananda

on Saturday evening, August 5th, in San Ramon. I think they will be of

interest. Swamiji began by saying that what he wanted to share were his own

thoughts and he hoped it would be useful. I found his words to be very

inspiring and validating. It seems to me that all that he has been through

this year has been for our benefit as well as his own:

People apologize when they cry...is that necessary?

Feel it deep whether it is happiness or sadness.

When I am sad, I want to feel sad. When I am with my sadness I find a joy

and a peace.

When we learn to feel the feelings a new world will open up. The end result

is feeling lighter. We then need to find the way (spiritual practice) to

sustain the lightness and the peace.

Grace/Kripa: No human effort can attain this.

Don't let any emotion remain stagnant; emotions are for expressing. Stagnant

energy can be dangerous and create problems.

A change happens in the inner world.

Amma makes us cry. One of Her major jobs is creating situations for the

stagnant energy to flow out and be replaced by spiritual energy. Even though

Amma is wiping the tears She is smilingly encouraging them at the same time.

We are on a backwards journey, returning to the Source. The starting point

and the finishing point are the same. Amma's purpose is to take us back.

There is no shortcut back. We have to go through all the buried dreams,

desires and emotions.

Allowing is the secret of life and only innocence can give the permission.

Wow.....this came to me at just the right time. It amazes me how this happens

but I so needed to hear this today.

Thank you for sharing it so very much.
