Guest guest
Hallo Fe and other Amma Fans, Fe wants to do an Amma group and she asked me what we are doing here in Berlin, Germany. I think a very "normal" Amma satsang. Here in our group is always a wish for a little social "come together" with chatting and the like. That is only allowed before the satsang. We start with a brief meditation followed by reading from some Amma Books, Matruvani etc. If some people have just returned from India they share their tales. After that we do another brief meditation along with asked mother to bless us with her presence. While the others keep their invard focus somebody does the devi invocation and chants the 108 names of the divine mother while the others echo with Om parashaktiye namah. After that we start with bhajans until we feel it is enough. Aarati and the prayers conclude the satsang. Sometimes people continue meditating in front of the altar for a while, wheras others feel like going home or still like to chat in another room. The key for a successful Ammagroup is in my opinion a core of 1,2,3 people who have a strong tie with Amma and can sing as well. They should try to go on even if almost nobody else shows up in the beginning. Many Amma groups fluctuate in the beginning. I did it for sometime just with a good friend who could play harmonium well. When no other people came we just started to study new songs and we had still fun. In the long run more people will get involved and the satsang will unfold. To my amazement the most difficult times where those when we invoked mothers presence and her divine energy very successfully. The shakti started to work on people and moved things from the inside out. At times this was hard to handle for the people and for the group. One time I experimented with including diskussions of "hot" spirituality related topics like how to bring spirituality and partnership, money making, sexuality etc. together. Some people liked to share in but for some this much openess was too much and next meetings I found myself almost alone. I realized that this is better to do on a special event just labeled for that or with people who know each other well. Many people here want to feel Ammas presence without to much talk or discussions. If you have some people who can play an instrument and are willing to share their gift on a regular basis this will be a good asset. One or two people should be able to invoke mothers presence with their hearts in order to guide the group in the right direction. May be others can share there essence of Ammagroup making as well.
