Thank you for that encourgement, dear sister in Amma. I haven't been participating in our list much for several weeks except to read Eknath's wonderful daily gifts. Somehow, the quote he sends always seems like Amma whispering just to me an important message I really need to keep me going. To get back and find the touching stories of Amma at the UN makes me appreciate all over again this list. Thank you all who shared such beautiful experiences with us. I too was in tears as I read Chandrika's stories. I've been wanting to tell you about an experience I had recently with Amma. During archana every morning for a long time, I kept getting this image of a certain park in a small town about 40 minutes away. I have only been at the park several times in the early 90's. It was so odd, but it kept recurring. Finally, the light dawned: Perhaps Amma wanted me to go there and recite the 1000 names! As soon as I understood that, the image stopped occurring during archana. I have decided to go to that park on Amma's birthday! I feel so happy! It feels like Amma and I are having this little adventure together. The week of Labor Day and after, my son Tony Jarvis (a devotee from NYC whom some of you might know because he has played and sung for Mother in San Ramon, NYC and Rhode Island and at the Ashram) was visiting and we went to the Wisconsin River. While meditating there, Amma seemed to be telling me to do the 1000 names at rivers, and I realized the place I will go on Her birthday is on a river! So now I've decided to go back to the Wisconsin River in my birthday and do the 1000 names there. Amma's words about being a river have been especially touching. Ever since we started doing archana in our home after returning from the Ashram in February, it feels like a great privilege. I hope some of you will tell us all about your celebrations of Amma's birthday. Thank you again to those of you who brought us with you to Amma at the UN. Om Mata. It is open to anyone who wants daily quotes in their e-mail, to be added, just write to Eknath1 (rather than to this list or this address). I enjoyed your post very much, as always, and wish I knew who your musician son was, I hope to hear him someday. Amma's love to all the wonderful Children on this list, where I am sorry to say I have been just lurking lately. Jai Amma! Eknath
