Dear Naoyo and Ela and anyone else interested in jyotish web sites:

A friend of mine who studies jyotish recommends the following sites and

commentary on them:

This is the site for K.N. Rao's magazine. It's full of useful info and

interesting features. There's so much to learn, I feel overwhelmed at

times, don't know where to start. Plus the fact of trying to learn a

discipline outside its cultural context via books and the internet. Whew!

Another favorite site is www.jyotishtools.com . This site offers a free

program called Junior Jyotish that I often use to cast charts.

Jai jai Ma!

Dear Vaishnavi,

Now I'm at the office and I can't write long, so I'll only write

what is essential for explaining what is Jyotish.

I can say that Jyotish is "Indian Astrology" but it not

"only a fortune telling method".

Its a part of Veda, the Indian spiritual wisdom and it is

a "tool" for us to live a spiritual life in the earth.

Jyotish helps us to avoid bad influences from planets

and to reduce our karmas.

I know that most of the great 'gurus' in India know that

Jyotish works but they don't recommend us to rely on

Astrology too much.

I dare not to write the reason why because it would be

long if I do so.

But Amma recommend most of us who have troubles

to consult Jyotishis in her ashram.

Why? That would be because Amma wants to relieve

people as many as possible by using any methods

that are 'effective'.

Is this enough for you?

Naoya
