The time of year you are going is a busy time, so it would be a good idea go let them know you're coming and need a flat. Also, Amma gives special darshans for her Western children, and I think you and your daughter at least ought to go to that. It is always very special and there are fewer people there. It happens quite spontaneously, so keep your ears open and ask other westerners to let you know if they hear about it before you do. > Does it get very crowded? Another way to be close to Amma if you're there briefly is to sign up to give Her prasad. All of this is explained on signs around the foreigners' office. Please note that since we were there last year there is a huge new auditorium space, so some things are bound to be different. Everyone is very helpful. If you let the people assigning prasad giving know that you are there for a brief amount of time, they will accommodate you. It's a very nice way to spend time near Amma. I am sure Amma put the thought of > visiting Vallikavu in my mind and you, her children, are giving me all the > information and encouragement I need to plan it. I'm sure of this too. This is exactly how my husband and I and our son went last year. Though we had been Amma's devotees since 1987, we had never had the impulse to go to India, then suddenly all 3 of us independently felt it was time! I'm so happy for you that you are going. I hope you will kiss the ground at the gate for me and enjoy the elephant. I ache to return and have had to surrender this to Amma. Om Amriteshvaryai Namah. Guest guest
Dear Eknath, I woke up this morning thinking about how you'd said with a small miracle you might be going. I could hear your yearning in that. During archana this morning, I prayed that you get that miracle. For me it would be a big miracle and I feel that Amma is teaching me patience and surrender. I really want to do her will, so I am surrendering this deep longing to her. I suspect she'll give me a few clues as the Ann Arbor program. May Amma's will be your small miracle. Guest guest
I<< May Amma's will be your small miracle. >> Thanks dear Kenna, and thanks for your prayer. Maybe I really meant a medium to large miracle Being with Amma all the time is my dream. How can I not feel that way? Traditional life really has no meaning for me anymore. And once I made it to Amritapuri, that was it. That's my home. I asked for it when I surrendered to Her one day, I guess. She told me "come back" when I left the ashram last winter...and it's all I want to do. Its only money that's in the way at this point. Shucks, I can't even afford to renounce, how's that for a joke? Oh well, I'll just keep singing songs of longing and hope She hears my cries and helps me get back home soon. I really hope that you get home soon too, so I'll say a prayer for you tonight. Jai Amma, Eknath
Guest guest
We are working on a childrens musical for Christmas at the Ashram . If you are going to be there in Nov or Dec. would you b e wiling to rehearse and play your guitar. I talked to you last year and you indicated a willingness to become involved. The music is a lot of funbut written originally for the piano. We are arriving december 1 . But it will need a lot of work because its pretty amitious. Also I think iI could get Galina to play her violin and there is another girl who plalys the flute. I am not a musician so it needs someone who could ehearse thekids mucically.
