The sounds in Malayalam is so different from those in English that the

transliterations are approximate. Malayalam is a Dravidian language unlike

English and Sanskrit which are Indoeuropean. Given that Usha is likely a

native speaker her transliteration of "Tarannay" is undoubtedly more

accurate. It's a tricky business, sometimes the only way I can pick up the

Malayalam pronunciation of the bhajans is by listening as the printed words

can be confusing. OAN, Amalia

All versions this child has seen and heard have said "tamnnay"

Correct.

Send to the M.A. center labeled for the earthquake relief.

At the Ann Arbor Retreat with Swami Dayamrita this past Sunday, he told us

that the government has agreed to let Amma adopt 3 villages which have been

leveled and that she plans to build homes, a church, a mosque, a temple (how

very Amma!). He also said that the San Ramon Ashram has dedicated its flower

budget (about $150 per month) to the earthquake relief. And in Ann Arbor,

the satsang (inspired by Hanuman and Nikila) has been holding a huge garage

sale twice a month (using the big building built to be the darshan hall) and

raising about $1500 per sale for earthquake relief (yep, that's $3000 per

month). Instead of pricing things, they tell people what the sale is about

and let them donate whatever they will. Jai Ma!
