Guest guest
What a fine exchange on anger. Thank you all for all the perspectives. A sumptuous feast of wisdom and a fine way to begin the weekend. To continue the party, I offer another Kali song from Ramprasad and Lex Hixon. Entrust your breath and being to the Mother! O tongue, form with every breath the powerful name of transformation, Ma Kali, Ma Kali. The heart where Goddess Kali is awake feels no need to reason or speculate. Simply to satify our longing, we consecrate external images for worship of the Goddess. She abides deep in our inward being as open space, as dancing flame. O singer of Mother's mystic hymns, bring your scattered speech together and taste the nectar of her name. Silently or aloud, chans her glorious name at every step, with every perception, every intention, drinking the inebriating sweetness, Kali, Kali, Kali. You are a simpleminded poet suited to this simple way. Her living name is a fountain of delight, streaming with the ambrosia of timeless awareness. Chant this name ten thousand times each day, counting with your fingers. Is this too difficult a task, O foolish one who sings her songs? Listen with inward ear to the music of her wisdom, teaching all creation. With inward eye visualize her brilliant name, flowing across your heart in letters of molten gold. Free from shame or hesitation, this poet lover pleads with everyone: "Please pass your lifetime repeating Ma! Ma! Ma! Entrust your breath and being to the Mother!" Jai Mata Kali.
