A friend of mine has produced a professional-quality audio version of the

Ramayana, unabridged. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting some info

about it here. I figured people would be interested. Here it is:

THE RAMAYANA--THE SACRED STORY OF ENLIGHTENED LIFE

The Epic of Love & Dharma is Now Available on Audio Cassette

Dear Friend,

I have always been fascinated by how love becomes embodied in the world.

Ammachi is the living example of this love in our current age. In Vedic

India, this energy was fully embodied in Rama... whose epic tale--the

Ramayana-- has thrilled the consciousness of the world.

My production company, Vedic Audio Knowledge, has recently released

the historic first audio recording of the Ramayana--a dramatic reading in

English of the unabridged "Ramayana of Valmiki". Volumes I and II (of 3)

are available now. As a lover of spiritual wisdom, I thought you would

like to hear about this new production.

"The greatest spiritual record of mankind" is how Joseph Campbell

described the wisdom of the Vedas. If you distill all this wisdom into one

extraordinary story, that is the Ramayana.

The Ramayana is the story of God who came to earth as man to purify

the world of negativity and restore Truth and Light into the hearts of

everyone. The story unfolds as Rama--the supreme hero--is united with his

beloved Sita, encounters separation from love, and finally overcomes these

challenges, transforming the world. If you love a great story, Rama's epic

adventure has it all--love and devotion, good versus evil, the challenges

of Dharma, and the secrets of enlightened life.

All sacred stories have magic, and the Ramayana seems to have a

special power. Great sages, throughout the ages, have recognized this

power of the Ramayana to purify heart and mind. As you listen to this

story, deep and profound impressions are made which cultivate true inner

greatness--wholeness of life.

Listening to this unabridged audio production also has two special

values:

first, the Ramayana was traditionally meant to be heard. By listening to

the Ramayana, as part of its original oral tradition, your experience goes

much deeper (plus it's convenient to listen to while you drive).

Second, this unabridged production gives you the full value of the

work. The Ramayana, as with all Vedic literature, contains its power in

the order and sequence of all the words. The Vedas are the "script of

Nature" and actually create Nature--even our own nature--in the flow of

their primordial sounds. Any abridgment of this would lessen the inner

magic. You'll find the results you receive from listening are very

transformational and transcendental.
