In Ammachi's presence perhaps Ohio officials seeking execution

would melt.

 

The cumulative prayers of all have effect.

 

This week I drove 7 hours.. in order to

be present in Lucasville Ohio where the state

of Ohio had planned to murder a prisoner, Jay

D Scott, someone in jail for 18 years for having shot someone. AT

had sent me a tape of Swami chanting the Gayatri but my car tape

player has been broken for several months. Suddenly as I

was listening to the radio, Baba's tape kicked

in.. and for several hours I cracked the window

so that His chant could float over the air.

When I arrived, I was told that 53 minutes before

the execution, the Ohio Supreme Court had

granted a reprieve while they consider the issues.

Over 100 members of Amnesty International, the

ACLU, Catholic churches, university groups,

abolitionist media and others were there in

the freezing rain. Some

had been for months vigiling and praying outside

Governor Taft's Bexley Ohio mansion.

 

The US Supreme Court is presently considering

the case of a Virginia man whose attorney had

3 days previous represented the victim, and the

case of a NC man who is mentally retarded.

 

Swami bless the state of Wisconsin which has

not murdered anyone since the 1850's.

 

Swami thank You for the grace of reprieve. Please

make it permanent, for Ohio, the US, and the

nations which have not yet joined the 106

abolition countries.

ask for clemency. He has already denied it twice.

The abolition community is beginning to boycott

multinational corporations based in execution

states. In Ohio are Procter and Gamble, Wendy's,

and BP/Amoco, as well as First Energy, Dominion

and others. In Texas are American Airlines,

Clear Channel, SBC Ameritech, Shell/Texaco,

Dean Foods, Supreme Beef, etc. In Florida

are Disney, the US headquarters of Burger King

and others. In Georgia are CNN and Coca Cola.

CNN has not covered the many Texas executions

occurring before the presidential elections.

In Missouri are Monsanto, Purina, Annheuser Busch.

Thank You Swami for ending human murder, and

all forms of violence to Your creatures.
