Guest guest
You will never guess who drove by my office today! THE DALAI LAMA! I just missed His Holiness by about 20 seconds as I was driving into work. I noticed the tail end of his police escort go by and I didn't know what was going on. But, when I came inside, the receptionist (who knew nothing at all about him) said "That Dolly guy" just drove past. I was able to get all the details from the man in the office next to me. He doesn't have any Buddhist interests himself, but he felt his heart open up as His Holiness went past. His Holiness is here in Mountain View, CA this week giving public talks and programs at an Amphitheater that's near my office. I'm not able to attend any of them myself because I'm disabled. Wasn't it nice of Mother to send him by to bless me! (Just one of Her many little treats.) I was so thrilled! All day as I worked with my clients (I'm a psychotherapist), I felt we were very blessed. And from now on, everyday when I cross that intersection, I will think of Our Divine Amma and of His Holiness. It reminds me of the first time that I ever saw Mother. She was getting into Her van after holding a program (which I had had to miss) just a few blocks away from my office (the same one), and I followed Her in my car for several miles. The next day I had my very first darshan with Her (of course that's a whole other story). So now I have two streets very near by that have been blessed by the presence of great masters. You can be sure this little chick is eagerly awaiting being in the presence of her own Divine Mother. I hope to be able to spend FIVE WHOLE DAYS with Her. It has been a long dry spell without Her. Blessings to all of Amma's little ones, vaishnavi

Guest guest
Hello , I live in Mountain View too and I went to Shoreline for diferent events. They do have facilities for disable people. But forgive if I am wrong. I just wish you can see Dalai Lama since he is Mountain View now. I wonder which street is the one where you saw Amma and the Dalai Lama. I didn' t know Amma was here in Mountain View once. If you ever need some help let me know. By the way, my name is Daniel and I wonder if there is any spanish speaker in this group. >cvaishnavi >Ammachi >amma-l, Ammachi > You'll never guess! >Fri, 18 May 2001 04:05:18 EDT > >You will never guess who drove by my office today! Guest guest
Thank you Daniel for your response and offer to help. I will probably take you up on it someday. I've been praying to Amma to find local devotees who would be able to help me with some of the things I'm not able to do. I appreciate your encouragement about going to see the Dalai Lama at Shoreline. However, if I went, I would I'd have to take a twin-size box springs and inflatable air bed with me in order to be there. This would require prearrangement with whoever is in charge of this event. I thought very seriously about doing it about a month ago when it would have been possible to make arrangements. However, it was scheduled so close to Amma's visit that I didn't want to risk doing anything to make my condition worse. So, reluctantly, I decided not to go, and I'm at peace with that decision. I'm actually busy now preparing for the trip to San Ramon to see Amma. Just the preparations are quite a strain on my body. To answer your question about Amma in Mountain View. She was actually in Palo Alto just little bit north of Mountain View. It was a regular stop for Her for at least two years that I know of in the summers of 1993 and 1994. I think, but I do not know, that She may have been here even earlier than 1993. She gave programs at the Jewish Community Center on Arastradero Rd., and at the Cubberly Center on Middlefield Road. I wonder if there are other devotees on these Amma lists who got to see Amma in Palo Alto back then. Maybe someone would have a story to share. The time I followed Her in my car was in 1994. She drove on Middlefield Road just south of Charleston Road all the way north to Willow Road in Menlo Park. She turned right on Willow and went a couple of blocks and then went to the home of some devotees. I watched Her get out of the van and be greeted and then She went inside. Too bad I was so timid; I probably could have just gone up to Her and She would have given me darshan. All the time while I followed Her I wondered if she was aware of me. Anyway, that stretch of Middlefield Road took me past many places that had spiritual significance in my life before I met Amma. So I suspect it was just Her way of letting me know that She'd been with me in those times and had always been guiding me spiritually. Now, when I drive along that part of Middlefield Road, or go across it, I focus my attention on Amma and on all of Her blessings. I guess you could say that I worship the ground She rode on! When His Holiness the Dalai Lama drove by my office, he was on San Antonio Road coming from the direction of El Camino going towards 101. My office where he drove by is on San Antonio at the intersection with Charleston. My beloved brothers and sisters, please forgive me if this posting is too personal or too local or too lengthy to be put on the Amma e-lists. I'm never quite sure where that line should be drawn. Jai Amma! vaishnavi
