Dear Jani,

 

I'm still in Amritapuri. Have postponed my travel for a week.

 

Yes, our dearest brother Amit is fully with Amma now.

 

It gives a deep feeling of solace to remember how much love and freedom

Amma had allowed him around Her in the last months. For me this is a clear

sign that She knew what his fate in his physical body was. I am sure his

soul will be resting in a peaceful state with Amma. While with us already,

he had such a natural and genuine ease and detachment in whatever he did,

which is a sign of a develloped soul.

 

Our duty now, is to pray that Amit's soul is quickly releived from the

state of shock that we experience if we die in a sudden accident, and that

he his freed from his last attachments in this world. For that we should

free him from our attachments towards him and allow him to move forward in

his soul's journey.

 

My sincere wish is that we don't indulge too much in unneccessary

emotional broodings and mind dramas.

 

The accident happened around 12:30 on Saturday after Kayankulam. Amit,

Iswar, Sudeep and Veerappan were going to Ernakulam and AIMS. Amit was

driving. They hit a 'Tourist bus' when trying to bypass a lorry (Typical

India way). Amit was killed on the spot. The others were in critical

condition for few hours which made things very hard for us here. Now all

have passed the critical condition, they have been shifted to AIMS and are

talking. Sudeep is the most seriously hurt.

 

Please ask everyone to pray that Sudeep, Iswar and Veerappan recover fully

without enduring too much pain.

 

 

Added:

The cremation ceremony happened today from 1 to 2 pm, after the parents

reached here. His brother performed the burning rites and Shakti Swami

conducted the post-mortem puja before the ashes were put in the sea.

 

When Amma was giving her room-darshan to the westerners Amit was all the

time in Her room even though he was not translating. Just moving around

smiling and joking. Full freedom.

The night before the accident Amma had called from Japan. She spoke to

Sudeep and Iswar who were in the cloackroom then asked about Amit. Amit

was singing bhajans, but upon Amma's insistance request he was called from

the bhajans and had his usual fun-joke time with Amma over the phone.

 

All is in Amma's hands.
