Dear visvanathan,

Just from the line you quoted, it makes me think that your chant is not part

of the Guru Gita. Your chant mentions Vishnu, whereas the Guru Gita

originates from a Shiva Bhakti source: the Shri Skanda Purana.

I'm sorry that I won't be able to read you file. I previously spent many

hours trying to get access to the Ammachi files and was totally

unsuccessful. In fact, my efforts messed up one of my other accounts,

the one that I use for my business. My disability prevents me from spending

further energy on it.

I wonder if others are still unable to access these files?

Thank you visvanathan for all of your generous contributions and wisdom that

you share with us.

At Amma's Feet,

vaishnavi

Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!!

Namaste to Amma's Darling Children!!

thank you ever so much, Vaishnavi, for posting the Sri Guru Gita.

it reminds me of a chant which i've heard the Swamijis do part of at

the beginning of satsang...

They almost always would sing at least the one verse from it...and i

was very much inspired to learn the entire chant of some 14 verses...

now what i am wondering is if those Guru Stotras are included in the

Sri Guru Gita...or if they are independant, and if so if there is any

interest on the parts of list-family to obrtain that chant...if there

is any interest and it is NOT in the Sri Guru Gita, i woud be happy to

post the words of the chant in transcribed english letters...however

as the email isn't supporting the more easily understood romanised

script with diacritical marks, and little dots here and there, it

would be somewhat difficult to send by this list, unless i were to put

it in the files along with the pictures...that might work...but if you

don't have the software to read that romanised script, you may not be

able to read it properly....such software from Itrans to Romanised

script to Devanagiri (Sanskrit script)..is available free of charge

for anyone interested from the Omkarananda Ashram...it's an

interesting and useful program to transcribe in either

direction...from Itrans to Devanagiri or to Romanised script, and

from romanised script to Itrans or Devanagiri, or Devanagiri to either

Itrans or Romanised script...very useful, lots of fun to play with,

and you get to write in Sanskrit with your computer (if you know how

Sanskrit goes that is!)

in fact dear ones, i will just get off this letter, and post that file

in the files section...of Guru Stotras...it's the chant which

includes:

"Gurur Brahma Gurur Visnuh Gurur Devo Mahesvarah

Guruh Sakshat Param Brahma tasmai Sri Gurave Namah!"

In Her Love and Service,

as ever, your own self,

visvanathan

Verdena,

You can use ITANS at http://www.aczone.com/itrans/

The online interface is a breeze to use - you can enter text in the Roman

script and the software converts it to a Sanskrit GIF file.

Hope this helps,

Namashivaya.

Girish
