Guest guest
>Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!! > >Anyways dear ones, when we were with our Mother >in Seattle, my daughter in darshan was mystified >to hear Mother saying over and over, "murruttu" >or "mudduttu" or "murrudhu" or something like >that. Namah Shivaya! There is no such word in Malayalam that I am aware of. Some possible close words are, as someone else mentioned, muttu-mole (darling daughter, literally 'pearl' daughter) muttu-mone (darling son). Amma also calls people ponnu-mole ('golden' daughter) or ponnu-mone. Another thing is malli-mutte (meaning, literally, 'jasmine-pearl'). It might have also been just 'mutte, mutte, mutte ...' (O pearl, O pearl, ...). Someone told me in November that Amma had called her something that sounded like 'tomato'. I knew that although Amma views everything in the universe equally, it was unlikely that She would have addressed her devotees with names of vegetables. So I asked Amma about it. Amma laughed and said that she was probably saying one of the above words. Whatever Amma calls you is endearment. I took a book for Amma to autograph, and in it, she inscribed 'Hey, you rascal, if you are such a good son, you have to be a little careful. Loving kisses to my darling son from Amma.' Naturally the rascal was such an endearing term for me! Amma is here now in San Ramon, and showing good spirits. Yesterday was Devi Bhava, and Amma was in a cream and gold sari, looking great! The temple building could not accommodate everyone all at once, so people were waiting in the large dining building that has been renovated after the fire last summer. The dining building has a large TV, and is nicely decorated with flowers and huge pictures of Amma. My son had a new clay ocarina, and Amma held up his music so that he could play Yankee Doodle for her, and he played it perfectly for the first time! The new ammachi.org website was shown to Amma and approved, one of the webmasters told me. I told Amma that I am kind of dependent on her personal presence, and was worried about the time that she would leave. She just stroked my cheek, looked very sympathetic, and told me to keep smiling. Amma paid me a lot of attention, and my wife was pissed off that she was ignored. She did not seem convinced by Amma's statement that Radha and Shyam were one. I told Amma this, and when my wife and I were doing the prasad seva (handing Amma flowers and candy) Amma told her 'I am going to look only at you, and not at your husband now.' My wife extracted a promise from Amma that she (my wife) would get to sit near Amma for a while when she goes to Vallickavu next month. Love and regards, Nandakumar (p.s. to Visvanathan -- Nandakumar is my given name, and Vallath is my family name. People call me either Nandakumar or Nandu, for short.) _______________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
