chat group confusion! Mail delivery Options

Thanks for contacting me. I am copying the List with this response in case

there are others who want to know more about email delivery.

 

I have set your mail delivery for DAILY DIGEST this morning.

 

There are four mail delivery options:

(A) INDIVIDUAL: each email sent to the list is copied to everybody. Thus,

you receive a copy of each email as it is sent in. This is the option set if

you d by sending an email.

(B) DAILY DIGEST: all the email sent in for one day is bundled together and

sent to you as one email. You get one email only per day.

© NO MAIL/WEB ONLY: you are d but do not get any email. You can

always view it online. This option is good if you go away on vacation for a

couple of weeks. You can set your delivery option to "no mail" before you go,

then set it back to "individual" or "daily digest" when you return.

(D) UNSUBSCRIBE: this one removes yourself from the list.

 

Here are the steps to set your delivery options:

 

1. go to / This gets you to the eGroups home

page.

 

2. Note the grey banner across the page near the top. It is one line height

tall. On the right side, click on "My Groups". This gets you to a page of all

the eGroups you are d to.

 

3. Note the right hand column. This tells you what your current settings are

for mail delivery for each of the eGroups you are d to. Click on the

"Edit My Groups" link on the top of this column.

 

4. On the next page, the right most column ("Membership") shows a pull down

list with the four above mail delivery options. Click on the one you want,

then click the "Save Changes" button.

 

That all there is to it.

 

Note that the name of the list (in our case "AMMACHI") is also a link. Click

on it to get to the home page for the Ammachi List. You can also get to this

page directly by going to Ammachi

 

On the Ammachi home page there are a number of features you can use. Note the

box in the right left column.

 

"Messages" give you access to all the postings to the list since it started.

 

"Files" gives access to the Files Section. Anyone on the list can upload

files so that anyone can download them. Kasi_visvanath has uploaded many

beautiful pictures of Ammachi.

 

"Bookmarks" gives to links to other world wide websites related to Ammachi.

 

"Members" gives you access to all the people d to the list. (Note it

is illegal to use this membership list for commerical email or spam.)

 

There are some other options ("chat", "database", "polls", etc) which have

not been used on this list.
