as there was a request from Verdena to access the Omkarananda Ashram

in India, for the freeware Itrans 98 program, which will

transliterate between Devanagari (Sanskrit letters), itrans, and

Romanised english lettered sanskrit...i looked it up again on the

net....one can go to

then you can download and install the program and play with it, to

figure out how to use it!

 

i've found it VERY useful for transcribing Devanagari Sanskrit

documents into Romanised english letters...(i can't read Devanagari

unfortunately!!!except for some of the letters)...

 

As the Romanised english letters version is very similar to what is

used by most of the authors, and translators, not to mention the MA

Center itself, it is much easier to use for me than Itrans version,

which is also very logical, but i just haven't "learned" what the

symbols mean.

 

i hope that this has been of some help to you, dear sister Verdena,

and anyone else interested in the Itrans program...
