Guest guest
Today is July 1st, and according to my schedule, Amma is entering Dallas, Texas. East meets West! Pranams to Texas-area devotees. Keep us updated on how Amma is doing. Peter, are you headed to Texas from Florida? Some of my fellow New York devotees make a game of watching Ammachi when she's in Devi Bhava, to try to guess which aspect of the Devi she's manifesting. A pink sari may incline us to imagine her as Lakshmi, showering us with abundance. In a mostly white sari she seems to be Saraswati, granting gifts of creativity and inspiration. I have seen photos of rare occasions where Ammachi has been in Krishna Bhava, dressed as the Lord of Vrindavan and carrying a flute. And other photos of Amma dancing in Kali Bhava, her hair unbraided and flowing freely, and carrying a trident. Has anyone seen Amma in these alternate Bhavas, and can you explain how they differ from the more usual Devi Bhava? Guest guest
In San Ramon ther was a puja done to Mother as Krishna. There's a picture of Her during it, wearing the Krishna crown, on the amritapuri.org website in the US tour pics. OAN
Guest guest
Dear Kalipadma, already quite long ago 85 or so Amma has finished to show Krishna Bhava. Until then it was part of her regular darshan manifestations. 3 days a week first Krishna and then Devi Bhava. In Swami Paramatmananda's books you can read about it and get a feel about those days. At one point in those old days she decided to go into Krishna Bhava only very occasionally and finally stop it altogether. Among other reasons she said that "A little round mother can't play a tender boy anymore." She had quickly gained weight in those days. She explained also that while in Krishna Bhava she feels more aloof towards the problems of more materially oriented people whereas in Devi Bhava she is a caring mother listening to anything. So Devi Bhava is better suited to embrace the people no matter with what intention they come. The devi Bhava itself has changed over the years. In the old days mother used to dance at times very wild before she would sit and receive people. You can see that in the video -Vintage scenes-. I would say that the devi Bhava today has become more civilized. It has not changed in matters what we can receive from it but the outward appearance has changed. Yes, it is more Lalita, Lakshmi, Saraswati etc. She was also sweet those days in Devi Bhava after calming down her Durga mood. If she would behave in the way of those old days people would be eventually scared and irritated. For westerners who are not used to it it is already exotic enough to came to a goddess in costume. For indians the pictures of devi they adore has become alive. If you see the pictures of Kali and Durga they don't represent a very sweet aspect of the devine female aspect. Who wants to come to embrace a roaring wild Kali? Who can stand Durgas fierce looks? Mother in her great work of compassion has manifested herself in such a way that we can open up and trust. Still you can experience her in these fierce moods today. I am shure you'll find people who serve her and can tell you about "Kali live manifestations" who happen at times when somebody messed something up. Life is not only sweet and we must learn to handle also the hard part of it. So she plays that for us too when we ary ready for it. I've a few pics also which I might put together for a webpage about Amma later. May your day be inspired by Ammas tireless love! Guest guest
Jai Kalipadma > Peter, are you headed to Texas from > Florida? > I did and have now returned. How beautiful being with Mother and family again! I always enjoy seeing people whom I have met before and making new acquaintances. And true to form, I had my moments of pure joy followed by some hurtful "stuff" that came up ... and is still with me at present. Om Amrtesvaryai Namah. I have never seen the color before. I for one surely felt like I was receiving an abundance of everything. She gave an abundance of enthusiam to me for two days. I also received an abundance of holy water, abundance of Amma goodies, abundance of physical closeness to her, an abundance of monetary savings on hotel costs and more!
