Dear Ranjeesh,

 

In many activities in India, the sexes are segregated. For example,

swimming pools have separate times set aside for women, restaurants

have family rooms, and buses in Kerala have seats, and even whole

buses, set aside for women only. My guess is that Yoga might

involve all sorts of positions and/or scanty clothing. Indian

women might generally not participate if men are present,

and the presence of (Western) women might inhibit the Indian men.

In fact, the teacher himself may not feel comfortable with

a mixed gathering. Just my guess.

 

My wife and son were in Vallickavu today, and had a great time

with Amma. Instead of sending some prasad, Amma asked me (through

my wife) to bite an apple here in the US. She also told me

to think of Amma while smoking.

Question ...Of course ... hi hi heee ..

 

Yes this qn came to my mind when i read our vallath's mail " <<

considering women as inferior ?? >>

 

So my question is , Why even in Yoga Courses , at some places They put

restriction for Women .

 

I remember one of the yoga camp Conducted by One of Amma's Child Swamy

Devdas ( I am not sure about the name ) at Calicut ashram ( kerala )

around 6 years back . and that one was also only for men . & I couldn't

see anything which is tough to do .. It was too simple even though

powerful . So I would like to know , Why is such disparity in Yoga

Also.. Anybody from amritapuri , Can U get the answer to my question

from somebody ?
