Guest guest
My Dear Rick , What I Have heard is that Amma is the reincarnation Of Sarada Devi , who was the wife of sri ramakrishna .. Amma used to tell her children to read Sri Ramakrishna's book , even to her sannyasins . ( I don't remember the Title , which is autobiography cum teachings of Sri Ramakrishna in 2 volumes published by Sri ramakrishna Ashram itself ) & Amma has a lot of Children who were Ramakrishna devotees . Basically she wanted her children to have that Bhakti Bhava of Sri Ramakrishna which is the easiest way , As there is a deep silence and natural witnessing for a long time after a total surrender to Guru . So those who could surrender easily even for silly reasons are the blessed ones . Then .. grabbing on throat ... again she is showing you the way how she surrendred with her ' Krishna krishna ' & ' Kali Kalee ' Call because during a phase many of the followers have a tendancy to imitate their guru in everything .. So It is for them . Amma want her Sons to become SUN's for the future to spread the light ... Hey Hey Hey .. Hellouu darling daughters .. I Can see The feeling on your face .. Hey ... U R also included in that "Sons" . Don't be angry dears ... hi hi heee ... Many of the things which Amma do , are not for herself .. but for the benefit of her children only . . and for a typical western newbie Initially it may be diificult to understand the concept of Surrender and BHAKTI MARGA . with lots of luv & laughter & Tiscue hi hi heee .. Ranjeesh London << A friend of mine who¹s not on this list asked me this question. I don¹t know much about this and would appreciate any feedback you all can offer: Have you ever heard Ammaji is Ramakrishna? I kept wondering why she grabs her throat that way, and suddenly realized because before she (he) had cancer there. Ramakrishna said many times he wanted to be born as a lady, he even pretended to be a lady sometimes so he could love Krishna more. Kali was his adored deity, and Ammaji is Kali. For both of them, everything is "Mother". Ramakrishna said he would definitely come back to earth in 100 years - that is now. And they both have very uninhibited, unconventional behavior, never caring what others think. I feel very happy thinking they are the same. >>
Guest guest
Dear Divine Siblings, There is one thing that I do not understand about this Amma was Sri Ramakrishna/Sarada Devi concept. When one is the ONE - i.e. all of these beings were, can you take the individual from the whole? If, say, I become ONE with all that is (LOL) and I take Maha Samadi - then I am forever merged with the ONE, right? Then how can I come back as an individual? Maybe I can come back as the WHOLE, in an individual form, but I am still the WHOLE or the ONE, so how can I be any individual, even one who has merged with God? Is this my intellect getting in the way, or does this make sense? I assume there is the Divine Mother who is without form, and the Divine Mother - Amma - with form. And then, we all are the ONE, the Divine Mother, anyway. Guest guest
Hi Ganesh, I too have a similar question- but i guess upon realization the ego is dissolved but the individuality of the soul is maintained- the soul lives in God, is above maya, but maintains , in Amma's words, a 'separative existence' in order to return here. Amma says She maintained a sankalpa- a sankalpa of compassion- with which She managed to return - She says so in Awaken Children Vol 5. She says one type of Mahatmas are like the icy lake in the himalays- no one can drink the water ,or enjoy the lotuses in it- the other type of Mahatmaas are like the Ganges- even though theGanges originates in the HImalayan heights, neverthelss it flows down among the plaions so that milions can bathe in it. Similarly Amma, came back out of sheer compassion. Also, Amma says She was born in That Supreme Conciousness. She was born smiling- the entire sadhana was like 'opening a cover'- She was always aware of Her real nature. BUt She 'flowed down' and became one of us out of pure compassion. Which makes Her the rarest type of Mahatma- An Avatar. Anyway this is how I understand how She, or similar souls, who realize God, merge in brahman, nevertheless maintain a sankalapa with which they retrurn to this world to help us all up. This by the way is unimaginable sacrifice and unimaginable compassion. Possible only by manifestations of The Mother Herself- for who other than the Divine Mother can have so much love? bala Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Messenger http://phonecard./
Guest guest
Dear Bala, Thank you for your thoughts and wisdom. I did not think of the individuality of the soul being maintained. I do remember when I first met Mother She used to say that She would come back any number of times to help Her Children cross the ocean of samsara. (I'm definitely paraphrasing.) My first guru, when asked if He would come back again after he left His body said "absolutely not"! And yes, coming to this plane of existence and doing what Mother does - which is unfathomable to this child - coming here in the first place, then Her very difficult childhood, and then endlessly traveling the globe, giving darshan for hours and hours on end, consoling us babies, and working on us endlessly so that we may one day merge with Her - is an act of unbelievable love, love that I cannot imagine.
