Guest guest Posted September 18, 2001 Report Share Posted September 18, 2001 Om Namah Shivaya, I just attended the all-day retreat with Swami Ramakrishnanda Puri on Sunday, 9/16, which had been arranged before the Tuesday attack happened. It was very peaceful and positive, and the first time this week that I felt better. It truly has helped to sing bhajans and meditate on Amma as much as possible. Amma's children are very lucky that they have her to lean on at times like these...no better counselor or pill in a bottle (in my opinion ) After the retreat ended (it was in downtown Manhattan), I went with 2 other devotees down to Union Square to lay some flowers that we had taken from under Amma's picture after arati. It was here that vigils, etc. was being held. Well, when we got to the center of the area of candles and flowers, what was our surprise when just at the spot we were going to lay our flowers, there was a large poster with Amma's garlanded picture, and her message following the tragedy. Also the prayer, "Asatoma satgamaya..." and "Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu", WITH the translations. Guess Amma always gets to all the places that need her.
