Guest guest
Dear Divine Sibs, I came across something that was intriguing! Let me know what your thoughts are about this - "Your physical body is not yours. You are absolutely not in your body. The more you can absorb this fact, the healthier you will be. Your soul exists approximately five or six inches above your body. When you become laden in your body, you begin to have physical illness. I want you to start reiterating this daily: "I am not my body. I am above my body." ***** "The ancient yogis did not even want to be in the body, which is non-productive. The true avatars begin to rise above their own bodies. At the other extreme, you find people who are very earthbound, very tied up in their own bodies. They get overly vain, overly conscientious, and overly self-conscious about themselves. That is really a type of spiritual death." (God, Creation, and Tools for Life - Sylvia Browne) This is what Swami Amritatma once told me: When he was in his twenties, one day, he was sitting close to Amma. Swamiji wanted to know about Radha. As Mother began to speak, tears rolled down Her cheeks and She went into samadhi. Swamiji had once read that when the famous photo of Sri Ramakrishna was about to be taken, the photographer asked Naren (Swami Vivekananda) to slightly tilt Thakur's face as He had gone into samadhi and his face was slumped over his chest. In order to tilt Master's head up, Naren put his two fingers under the chin. As he was about to lift what he thought was the face, the ENTIRE BODY of Sri Ramakrishna lifted up, like a weightless, paper body! Narendra was astonished! Swami Amritatma wanted to test if Mother's body would also be as weightless. Just then Amma's nephew came over. Swamiji lifted the child and placed in Amma's hands. But, She was not present there to hold him, so Swamiji hastily grabbed the child back. Next he wanted to touch Amma's body. As he put his fingers on Her arm, they just went through. There was no grossness of the physical body which could come in contact with his fingers. His fingers went right through Her arm! And yet this Maya of Hers is so strong that we get swayed by Her physical presence and go through agony and ecstasy over all the leelas that are played by the external form of our beloved Amma. Jai Ma! Chandrika
