Guest guest
Om Amriteshwaryai Namah Dearest brothers and sisters i just discovered the group for myself. i am 19, and i am from the middle of Russia. i knew about Amma just few months ago. i saw Her only in my dreams twice. i want to leave all my life here at home and to go for years and years being near Her in Her ashram. i cannot wait to see Her. just trying to fill my life with Her teaching and wait when Mother will let me meet Her and be near Her. Maybe somebody could share their experiences in Ammachi's ashram and write what i would need to know going there at first time (i already checked the web-sites). With Divine Love, sasha. Guest guest
Namaste! How wonderful that you were guided to Amma's feet during this lifetime! It is so very rare to meet a genuine Satguru. I spent 4 months at Ammachi's ashram in India several years ago, thinking that I would like to live there permanently. While it was extremely blissful to be in Amma's presence, I did not feel a strong interest in staying there long-term, and haven't felt a desire to return there since (I actually tried to change my airline ticket while I was there to come home earlier!). Though my time there was positive, I find it more enjoyable to see Mother during her tours in the States (and/or Europe). But that's just me:) I know that most devotees long to return to Amritapuri every year! Are you aware that Amma is now in Europe? Would you be able to travel to see Her while She is there? If you do visit Amritapuri, I would suggest bringing insect repellant, an alarm clock, a camping mattress of some kind (though they have sleeping mats there, some of my friends got lice from them), a pillow if you need it, some medicines for sickness, vitamins (I became anemic while I was there), tea tree oil or other ointment for cuts (though they do have a small hospital right next door). Hope this helps:) Kirsten - <estrella_solitaria <Ammachi> Saturday, October 27, 2001 11:59 AM Om Amriteshwaryai Namah > Om Amriteshwaryai Namah > Dearest brothers and sisters > i just discovered the group for myself. i am 19, and i am from the > middle of Russia. i knew about Amma just few months ago. i saw Her > only in my dreams twice. i want to leave all my life here at home and > to go for years and years being near Her in Her ashram. i cannot wait > to see Her. just trying to fill my life with Her teaching and wait > when Mother will let me meet Her and be near Her. > Maybe somebody could share their experiences in Ammachi's ashram and > write what i would need to know going there at first time (i already > checked the web-sites). > With Divine Love, > sasha. > Om Namah Shivayai > > > > Aum Amriteswarayai Namaha! > > Ammachi > > > Your use of is subject to > >
Guest guest
Dear Kirsten, thank you for your reply. Were you able to see Amma every day while being there? And what a day is like there? Yes, i know that Ammachi is on Her tour know. I was going to be in Finland, but first i found out that it wasn't possible for me to go and the very next day i knew that Amma chancelled the program there. If i will be able to go to South Europe, i don't know. It's up to Amma's will, when She'll find me ready to meet Her, i don't feel as making the decision myself. Aum Amriteshwaryai Namaha. sasha
Guest guest
Dear Sasha, I have to agree with Kirsten, it is truly a miracle you found out about our beloved Amma and that she is giving you the wonderful experience of Her presence in your dreams! You are really blessed. Regarding Amma's ashram in India (Amritapuri), I have been there twice for a total of 3 months (end of 1998 and end of 2000) and I am planning on going back this December. The months from November - February are the best times to go there - the temperature is not too hot and it is not the monsoon season. Also, December -February is a time Amma is in India (not on foreign tour). You would need to check with the Embassy of India in your country about obtaining a visa. I have enjoyed my time at the India ashram very much, even though conditions are not always easy there. However, conditions there have greatly improved since my first visit. They have new mattresses now that have vinyl covers, but it's not a bad idea to take a thin mattress of your own. The www.amritapuri.org website lists the daily activities at the ashram. Most activities are not required, but they do expect you to do selfless volunteer work every day such as preparing meals. It is good to talk to a doctor before going to India so he or she can advise you about injections or pills to take to prevent any illnesses. Taking vitamins along is a good idea since we are not as used to the vegetable and rice diet, although they do have more alternatives than they used to at the western kitchen. If you wanted more specific advice, you could contact me or someone else on this list privately. I feel that the benefit for me of spending time in Amritapuri is a lot. The spiritual vibrations there are very strong and it is a chance to be totally focused on Amma and spiritual practice. I know a number of young people who go to India to be with Amma for a few years - it really depends on your situation and what Mother wants to do. There are quite a few people your age at the ashram. Living there may or may not be for you. Did you know Amma is in Europe right now? You can go to this web page to find out where and when. She will be in London next, then Paris: http://www.ammachi.org/tours/amma-tour/index.html I will pray that you find a way to meet Mother soon - this is something you could pray for as well. Meanwhile, you can keep in touch with her by visiting the www.amritapuri.org website. They have spiritual songs (bhajans) and talks by Amma on that website. Let us know if there is anything else we can give you information about. Our prayers are with you, Amritanand California, USA Kirsten [khd5] Saturday, October 27, 2001 10:02 AM Ammachi Re: Om Amriteshwaryai Namah Namaste!
