Guest guest
Hello all, Last nite's (or should i say this morning's) Devi Bhava was just amazing. And there were so many new folks, who were coming to see Amma for the first time-- the word is really getting out! As always, I really loved the diversity of people that she brings together, all ages, colors, and sizes. I did have a bhajan question-- towards the end, Big Swami did one that had a chorus that went something like 'lay lay, lay lay lay lo', a very fast tempo. Can anyone tell me the name ? Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya ... I'm so glad to find this email list... Looking forward to connecting with all of you. Just returning to the rest of the world after Amma's programs in San Ramon. I live about 45 minutes from the ashram, quite a blessing. Devi Bhava was, of course, magnificent! Amma wore a crimson-colored sari that was radiant (OK, has she ever worn anything that WASN'T radiant???). Over 2900 people! We didn't finish til 9:15, and there weren't even any weddings! And it seemed to me that the singing was even better than usual, especially at the end. There was a song I hadn't heard before that Big Swami sang, that was absolutely amazing. It had the dotydotydoty words (oh, I don't know what they are!) that Amma seems to chant in some people's ears. The chorus was this rousing round of it, everyone was jumping and ecstatic. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and what song this is, and if it's on any recording? I couldn't believe how fast Swami was singing! It was two songs before Amma Amma Taye. Anyways, it was an interesting retreat - many challenges, including pouring rain, and taking down the walls to the rooms at the back of the temple! Who else was there? I'd love to hear your experiences. And I'm looking forward to hearing how Ann Arbor goes. Blessings, Achintya
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, Achintya, Where do you live? I live about an hour away from the San Ramon ashram, in Mountain View. I think the bhajan you are talking about is "Amrta Vahini" in Bhajanamritam Volume IV, p. 20. The refrain goes "Titti tara titti tai ti tai taka tai tai tom, tai tai tai tai tai tai tai tai titai taka tai tai tom, titti tara titti tai ti tai taka tai tai tom, titti tara titta tai ti tai taka tai tai tom". I don't know if it's recorded on any tape or CD. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, Fe! Oh, that does sound like the song! I'll have to look it up, and ask someone at the center if there's a recording of it. If there wasn't before, maybe there will be one soon! Also, Fe, I like in Menlo Park! Incidentally, I'd like to gather together a bunch of devotees from the mid to lower Penninsula (esp Mountain View to Menlo Park areas) for an informal Satsang group... maybe leading to an official satsang someday. Let me know if you're interested! Blessings, Achintya - Fe Langdon Ammachi Monday, November 26, 2001 12:20 PM Re: San Ramon... Namah Shivaya, Achintya, Where do you live? Guest guest
Hi Achintya: Welcome to the list! Thank you for the beautiful blessing of your email. I'm off tomorrow morning for Ann Arbor to see Her. I have felt Her presence around me for the last two days. What a pure delight to have Amma in our lives. Om Amrtesvaryai Namah.
