Addressing a large gathering at Brahmastanam temple at Vellimadukunnu, here, on Friday evening, Mata demanded individual-level efforts to maintain harmony and peace. ‘‘Those who refuse to open their minds will not achieve anything in life. A smiling face and a flawless mind are the supreme qualities of being. However, most of the devotees are approaching me with minds laden with burden. Compassion for others and noble thoughts must be the hallmark of real devotees,’’Mata said. The divine personality also advised her devotees to take self criticism as the powerful mechanism to overcome individual-level jealousy. ‘‘God is not an invisible phenomenon. The almighty is present in all creatures living in the entire universe. Those who believe in God should work for promoting amity and brotherhood among different sections of the society,’’ she said. A Chovva Dosha Nivarana puja was held at the Brahmastanam this morning. As many as 1,000 devotees took part. Swamy Amritananda Puri delivered a religious lecture thereafter. A Rahu Dosha Nivarana Puja will be held on Saturday morning. The annual festival at the Brahmasthanam will end in the evening with a Sani Dosha Nivarana puja.
