I read most of the posts but rarely write, so I feel a bit sheepish asking

for a recipe rather than contributing something profound. But here goes..

 

A dear friend is giving a large baby shower which will be attended by

vegetarians and non vegetarians. She would like to serve a spicy curried or

Indian salad using grains such as brown rice and/or lentils for the

vegetarians. She'd like it to be colorful and attractive as well as

delicious. I confess I am a vegan who eats simply except at the ashram in

San Ramon where I devour all the delicious Indian food and wish they would

put out a cookbook of recipes.

 

If anybody has any recipes we might use, please e-mail me privately. I am

also very interested in recipes for dal and other dishes served at the

ashram. I am hoping to introduce these to my grandchildren early and have

them become part of our family tradition.
