BHUJ: Last year's earthquake has become a boon, at

least, for the people of Dhagala, Mokhana and Modser

villages of Bhuj taluka.

Situated amidst the hilly areas off Bhuj-Bhachau via

Dudhai village, about 35 km from Bhuj, the

internationally renowned Mata Amrutanandamayi Math of

Kerala has adopted all the three villages and over

nine hundred houses, designed by structural

engineers from IIT. The houses have almost been

completed within just nine months.

These houses are completely earthquake resistant and

the element of social engineering has also been taken

care of, while allocating the houses said Swami Sada

Shiv Chaitanya. A hospital is already operational and

two doctors have been posted there.

As many as eight small ponds have been constructed to

maintain the ecological balance in the area.

"Flamingos have arrived for the first time in the

area", said Swami Abhya Amruta Chaitanya at Dagala

village, which has been completely relocated. Japanese

students, who have come to study earthquake resistant

construction, were also seen working at the

site.

Amma has decided to visit Daghala on Sunday, to

dedicate houses and other infrastructural facilities

to the villagers. Union home minister LK Advani, state

Governor Sundersinh Bhandari and Chief Minister

Narendra Modi will also attend the function.
