Guest guest Posted March 20, 2002 Report Share Posted March 20, 2002 Imagine Amma having to communicate in English with all the thirsty American & English speaking devotees..................seems alittle overwhelming.................I pray she continues to use her English in precious small tidbits.......just to inspire us with bits and pieces...........just enough to keep us thirsting for more of her love..................and not demanding she converse for hours solving our problems or listening to our dramas After only knowing Amma for two years, and she wanted to make a point about my overweight status.........in the Chicago Airport in July 1996............she got right under my face ( I am five-six inches taller), as she put two Hershey kisses in my hand............and said in English "NO CHOCOLATE, NO SUGAR"...........at first was in shock to realize she spoke to me in English.......then putting chocolate in my hand as she said it.........but then understood with the help of a wiser, older devotee. Amma got her point across.............and I will cherish those four words.....................in English...............a powerful command and a BIG lesson.
