Guest guest
Two more photos are there. "Shri Lalitambike" was inpired by two verses in Shri Lalitambike Sarvashakte from Bhajanamrita Volume 3, page 218. The verses say "The ocean sings your song. It reverberates the mantram 'OM." Each wave, one by one, dances to the tune of 'OM.' I will look for You on every seashore and enquire of you from every grain of sand." The sculpture "Radiant Mother" is the hardest one I have done so far. There is a whole story associated with it but you could think of it as also inspired by another verse in Shri Lalitambike Sarvashakte, namely the one which says: "Oh Light of the Universe, Embodiment of Divinity, even if all forsake me, You must give me refuge." After I finished the Inner Wealth piece, I didn't know what to work on next and so I said a prayer to Amma to show me another bhajan with visual imagery that I could show in sculpture. She led me immediately to Shri Lalitambike Sarvashakte which is LOADED with luxurious images. Later, Amalia told me that this long song is on one of the OLD IS GOLD tapes so I got to hear it and love it. Very accessible ot Western ears, very joyful. Amalia also told me that it was the end-of-day hymn in the early days in India. Aikya
