Guest guest
During one of the sessions in Dallas, we forget to bring something down from our room to place on a couple of chairs to reserve them for us. My partner pulled out her room key (which had no markings on it to identify our room) and put it on one chair and her drivers license to reserve the adjacent chair. Not the wisest thing to do as we quickly discovered! We were but 10 feet away and frequently glanced over to the chairs to make sure the key and license were still there. Yiks! We look over and saw her drivers license was gone! After checking that it indeed was missing and not just fallen down on the floor, we both became immediately horror struck. "Who would do such a thing" we both ask each other. Surely in a loving environment, no one would steal a drivers license! What use could it be to someone? Yet, it was gone. My partner went over to the Information desk to report the missing license while I watch my mind panic at the implications. While the license can be replaced, she needed the license for a photo identification to board the plane for the homeward journey. Would someone let us on the plane without it? Could we talk to an airline person and the security forces to let us board? The more I thought about it, the dimmer the prospects seemed. We were in danger of missing our flight, having to rent a car and doing a two day drive to get home. To make matters worse, my partner would arrive a day late to start a new job. She was only gone a couple of minutes before she returned with a much relieved expression on her face. Someone picked it up and had just turned it in at the Information desk. She had her license back! We both breathed a big sigh of relief and resolved never to do that again. We never found out who took the license so we could express our thanks. That is one experience we will not forget! Om Amrtesvaryai Namah. Peter
