Guest guest
Hello, sisters and brothers in Amma. I had written a few weeks ago about missing the Rhode Island retreat due to money scarcity - but then a couple of lovely people on this list kindly informed me that Devi Bhava was free and open to the public. Wow! ;-) I had excitedly planned to attend, but I've just discovered that one of my best friends - who was diagnosed with MS last year - is planning a belated birthday party for himself on that same day. It would have been sooner but one of his friends (whom I knew casually) just died abruptly of liver disease, hence he is planning everything on the spur of the moment. Despite some difficulties that we've shared over the last year or so, I love this person and want to be with him on his special day. I don't know how long he'll be with us, and I've been asking Amma for an answer - should I go to RI or be with Drew? And I feel that she is telling me to be here with Drew. I really don't want to miss Amma at all. I've never been to any of her retreats - but she is in my heart, and I DEFINITELY plan to attend the ENTIRE retreat next year. The need (not just desire) to be with her is amazing! And I think she knows what I am going through...she knows everything, doesn't she? ;-) I also just started a new position at work and am a little nerve-wracked about it. I'm doing well but there's a lot of responsibility that always unsettles me whenever I think about it. So I just pray to Amma each day that I may do my best for my employer (and myself) and simply let it be. My gratitude and love to all of you who have written to me privately about Devi Bhava or about the Amma doll that I just received the other day (thank you yet again, Marcia!). I feel exceedingly privileged to "know" each of you...and I hope to meet you in person one of these days as well. ===== In Love & Light, Christina D. Guest guest
Last year I was so excited for Amma to come to NYC to visit. I had lost a baby and was sad and needed a hug from her badly. My children also wanted to go and meet her and my husband and a friend of mine had agreed to go with me. A number of circumstances kept us from going to NYC and I thought I might be able to drive up to R. I (we live in Connecticut) to see her but it just was not to be for me last year at all. But I did catch one of the early morning news shows that Amma was on. The kids and I cuddled on the bed and took our Darshan threw the tv set and I tell you it was just as wonderful. It was good to as it reminded me that while she is not always near us who live her in the US she is always in our heart and we just need to think of her to get our hug. I think it is a wonderful thing for you to be with your friend. Your friend is blessed to have you in his life and threw you , you are sharing Amma's love with him. How lucky for both of you. Many Blessing to you. -- Namaste, Shelly Mom to 5 CT
Guest guest
Dear Shelly, I am in CT as well! Where do you live? I am in Hamden. You are so very right: Amma indeed lives in our hearts, and we can hug her in a variety of ways - some of which aren't physical! I'm sorry that you missed her last year (I still haven't met her in the material world yet) but I think we'll both get our chance in the near future. Next summer isn't so far away. Drew definitely needs some Mother Love these days. I am happy to channel it to him. Guest guest
Hi Christine! We are in Milford. Not to far from you. I am hoping we can go this year. I wanted to go as a full family but my husband's work is so busy he cannot take the time off. I just might brave it with all the kids (I have 5) and go up to Adover, MA. Just waiting to see if we can do it. I keep praying at the last minute my husband will say he can come with us. We don't share the same path but I want him to meet Amma and for some reason I want us to go as a family. LIke you said next summer is not to far away either. Guest guest
Hi Shelly, I really love Milford and would actually like to move there at some point over the next couple of years. It's been a longtime dream of mine to live on the beach. I hope that all of you, including your husband, will get to go this year - but, if not, everything is still unfolding as it should. You will have your opportunity to meet her in the outer realms! Love & Light, Christine Ammachi, kalima <kalima@s...> wrote: > Hi Christine! > > We are in Milford. Guest guest
Christinem Well I hope your dream comes true. I like Milford alot. Very friendly community. It looks like I might be able to go Anover but without my husband. :0( I am nervous to go with all 5 children but I am lucky to have great kids so I think it will be fine. Since we homeschool we are trying to make this an educational trip as well.
