Love and Distance

In Rhode Island, on Friday, July 12, we were all gathered outdoors

for the question and answer session. Ammachi and the Swamis came.

After Amma sat down and looked out at the crowd she began laughing.

there followed a brief exchange between Ammachi and Swami

Amritasvarupananda.

 

Swamiji explained, "One of the devotees has binoculars. That led

Mother to say 'Where there is love, there is no distance. Even

thought he sun is far away, the lotuses on earth still bloom."

 

Swamiji added, "Before Amma left India, a brahmacharin who is in

charge of one of her centers in India, told Mother 'Where there is

phone, there is no distance."

 

We all laughed.

 

"'Where there is phone, there is no distance,'" repeated Swamiji for

the witty brahmachari. "'Please call!"
