Guest guest
St. Therese of Lisieux's parents are an example to follow, and they have recently been Beatified if I recall correctly. Both her parents had wanted to join the monastic life, but were rejected. They met, and married a short 3 months later. They stayed celibate for 10 months until their priest convinced them they should have kids. They ended up having 9 total, although 4 died in early childhood. All 5 daughters that remained, ended up in a monastery, with the youngest, Therese (entered amongst obstacles as the age of 15, died at 24), as one of the most popular and loved saints of Catholicism today. When her relics toured the U.S. a few years ago, they attracted crowds as big or bigger than Amma's darshan crowds, even people who weren't Catholic. The family's routine growing up, included reading from scripture every night as a family before going to bed, regular and sometimes daily attendance of mass, pilgrimages and plenty of donations to charitable causes. Both the husband and mother worked, but the mother died young of breast cancer. (making your home an ashram) Amma has said that a guru may ask a sannyasi to get married, even if he/she doesn't want to. And that even though that sannyas may suffer greatly, all their children will be saints...
