The college with a student strength of 100 has been considered the most modern college so far in the state with a full-fledged hospital and teaching faculty. Amrita College is the first product of the liberalisation Kerala began in the professional education sector a year ago. The college is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University of Science. Medical Director Dr Prem Nair and Vice-President AIMS A.P.S. Krishnan told reporters that the MCI inspection team which visited the hospital last month found no "deficiency" in the facilities. In fact, the college's human anatomy museum and lecture halls with close circuit TV had received laudatory remarks from the MCI tam, Krishnan said. Integrating information technology in the medical curriculum is one of the novel features of the college. The new college also creates history as this is the first professional college without reservation. All except 15 per cent NRI quota are open for merit. The AIMS authorities said the college was likely to be inaugurated by the Union Minister for Health Shatrughan Sinha. Health - Feel better, live better http://health.
