Guest guest
I think some of the confusion comes from a head "facing" versus "pointing". A head "facing" South would have the chin pointing South and head pointing north. I had heard that sleeping with your head pointed North, especially if you sleep on the ground, makes you feel more refreshed because of the Earth's magnetic forces running North to the South. When I first started sleeping on the floor (just a sheet over the carpet) a few years ago, I experienced this when I had my head pointed to the East. A couple times as I fell asleep or first thing I woke up, I felt like I was lying sideways in a river. I switched my head to the north and have been fine ever since. The only exceptions is on Saturdays when it seems more comfortable to nap with my head in the south. I had read somewhere that a person's head points to the South (direction of Yama the god of death) during the funeral rituals and cremation. tom
