Guest guest
Does anyone use their little conch shell that comes with the puja sets? I read somewhere that you should hold it while doing japa. I've also read where it's used to hold holy water during pujas, but I don't think they're talking about the little ones. I know that the "right-handed" conches are more auspicious and rare, compared to the "left-handed" ones. I've also read, but am unsure that the conch should be held with the opening upwards, and the open end pointed at you, just like the Shankha Mudra, which is supposed to be for auspiciousness. I figured out my conch was a lefty by replacing my right fist (conch mudra) with my conch and it fit perfectly, with the mouth up and the end towards me. Putting it in my right hand, the conch pointed to the left. Tom
