Guest guest
I think the discussion of rituals and what happens at Amma's darshan programs are two very different topics. Amma lets what happens around Her happen because that's just the way it is. Some people's actions are out of devotion, some of it out of arrogance that they know better (making others miserable in the process). One year Amma had the locals do prasad seva in pairs, rotating every 10 minutes or so. The lady paired with me was already very nervous, so of course it didn't help when the trainer/assistant would roughly grab the person's hand to quickly place the prasad in Amma's hand. I only let that happen about twice before I learned I had to act quickly to block it, and then gently nudge the lady's forearm from the elbow to give her the signal. I have to admit that at least the organization of it all has gotten a little better in the five years I've gone for darshan, but it's no different than in the world: politics. When people have had enough and decide on change, then and only then will things change. Until then it's politics, just politics... tom
